Anatomy Scan (low PAPP-A)

I'm getting nervous our anatomy scan is in about a hour, we are doing a level 2 w/ fetal echo. My family has a history of minor congenital heart defects. I also had one of my NT lab results (PAPP-A) come back extremely low which can mean placenta insufficiency. I worry about what that may mean for him since the follow up letter I sent was not very encouraging.

Anyways, I know that everything should be fine but I could use some thoughts and prayers. I will also update since I know there were quite a few other women who got low PAPP-A and may be waiting for their anatomy scans.

Try not to worry you don't even know if you have anything to worry about yet. I know it's stressful though but worried isn't going to do anything. Sending you positive thoughts!!

@aliciak316 That's what I keep telling myself. There's just worry for worries sake right now. I was doing pretty good until today not sure why I'm suddenly caving.

Good luck! I too have low PAPP-A and my doctor didn't really seem to want to discuss it until I got my Mat21 results back (they were negative) I'm not sure if they get more info that just that with those results. I dunno, I'm anxious for my next appointment and anatomy scan (which isn't until 21 weeks!!!) Keep us updated!

Good luck today and to all the ladies with an upcoming A/S! Regarding the low PAPP-A, at the ultrasound (in addition to the baby) they should look at the size and shape of your placenta as well as checking on blood flow through the cord and uterine arteries. Fingers crossed everything looks perfect! Mine is next week and I'm trying not to be nervous!

Thanks ladies I saw a doc I used to work with he's great he said he's perfect. Looks like the plan will be a growth 28-34 weeks and then weekly testing from 32 weeks and probably not let me go overdue. Very good visit I hope everyone else's went great!
