GTKY-- Another baby name thread

ramy3695, I now am loving the name Iris and it would definitely be on the list for any future baby girls.

So two questions:

1)      Have you been inspired by any J13 baby names?

2)      If you found out a J13 “stole” your name for a J13 lil sibling, would it bother you or would you consider it a compliment?

    1. Not really. There are definitely names I like and ones I dislike. Can't say anyone has changed my mind about it though.

    2. Definitely wouldn't care if someone used a name I wanted. I don't own names ;)

I do really love the name Tessa! And I was considering Vincent bc it is my dads middle name and seeing @lancomechica‌'s V makes me like the name even more.

I don't own the name Benjamin, lol.

We were strongly considering the name Parks and will consider it for future children. I would be curious to know where someone got that name if they named their child that, but obviously we didnt even use it, so it can't be stolen.

    2. Wouldn't bother me.

  • 1. I like the name Brynne, a lot. If I have a girl I may consider it.
    2. No I wouldn't mind at all. I don't own names.

  • 1.  As I said, I never thought of the name Iris prior to hearing it here and I really like it.  I also love Ellie, Josephine (Josie), and James, but those were on my list prior to hearing them here.
    2.  I would consider it a compliment-- I <3 Tess/Tessa/Teresa

  • 1-Nothing really from J13, but I've been lurking the baby name board for ideas for #2. I mentioned last week that my new fave is Juliet.

2-I wouldn't mind it at all, but did wonder how @Meimsx would feel if we had a boy next time. Our boy's name is Isaac.

It would be awesome! I would be very happy for you. Isaac is a great name.

J13 has confirmed my love of the name George.

  • I don't think any J13 names have inspired me, though there are several that I love. @ramy3695 - Iris was in our top three had Zack been a girl, but we ultimately decided on Juliet Rose if he was a girl. If we have another (which probably will not be the case - Juliet will still be our girl's name).

And I would love if someone used Delilah or Zachary for their own child. It just gives confirmation that people love the names as much as I do.

  • 1. I think J13 names inspire me because many of us went with very classic names. If I have another boy I want a W name. Wyatt is number 2 on the list afterms Weston.
    2. I don't think using a name you get from someone else is bad at all. My DS1 name Jaxon wasn't as popular when I named him in 2003 now it is on most top ten list and I think it was number 1 name in 2012. I like to consider him a trend setter :)

  • 1. I wouldn't say inspired, but I do love a lot of j13 names.
    2. You can't steal a name. Shayla.

DH and I both love the name Avery. But Avery and Riley as a female sibset may be goofy. Also, both names end in Y as does our last name!

Nope. I have a Kailey, Riley , delaney and Avery poor y less Callahan. They are all family names but yes on occasion I think it's comical. It was never done on purpose but most people think it was.
I like all five of your kids names.

  • If we have another dd dh wants to name her Violet. I'm so on the fence.... I love the name Violet but then we would have a Lily and a Violet.... Too weird?
  • I love a lot of J13 names, but we're pretty set on our names for future children. Emily for a girl and Alex for a boy. @PrimRoseMama‌ 's Alex is adorable, so he helped solidify my boy name choice.

    Can't steal a name, so I definitely wouldn't mind.

Reminds me of Charlotte on Sex in the City- she had Lily and Rose. I think it's fun and sweet. But I also like twinsy names...

  • 1.) Nope...I have my names and I am sticking to them

    2.) I would be flattered :)  Thanks @MRads having a Vincent/Vinny is fun:)

  • My lists haven't really changed. There are some babies on here whose names were already on my list.

I couldn't care less if somebody named her baby Lucas. A good friend IRL named her December 13 baby Lucas, so that's a little weird. But it didn't upset me or anything.

We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.

  • Lots of great names here, but I am done with my brood of two.

Sebastian and Alden it is.(Love having boys, but sad not to use the girl names.)

I actually know a girl named Alden, and I really like it either way!

I don't mind if people use a name, but I do like them to have some sort of meaningfulness, y'know? Anyone's welcome to "steal" Lyra, but be aware you'll spend a lot of time talking about astronomy and/or The Golden Compass ;-)

  • 1. If we had another boy I love the names Oliver, Jameson & Dashiell. As for girl names were set in using Everly as a middle name & DH is on the fence about Noah as a first name.

    2. I would be flattered if someone "stole" jae's name but I doubt anyone would lol its not very popular. Maybe one of his middle names like Mattias? Cause his other, Dastan, isn't too common either. I'm weird lol
