Success after IF

anyone start out with low betas

I asked this question on Friday night but the board was kind of empty. ?

My first beta at 7dp5dt was 14. ? The second beta doubled but was only 30. So I'm sort of worried that the baby isn't planning on sticking around. ?The girls that were here on Friday made me feel a little better stating that there are lots of girls that started out with low betas. But of course I need a little more reassurance. ?We are doing a 3rd beta on Wednesday morning when I get home from vacation. ?image

Re: anyone start out with low betas

  • I guess close to where you had a 2nd beta, my first was drawn.  9dp5dt my beta was only 39.

The nurse at the RE gave me the talk that it was really low and could go either way.

BUT - here I am, 16+ weeks along.

    Good luck to you!

  • Echloe I'm thinking really good thoughts for you - the doubling is fantastic!  That's what you want to see, try at this point to not worry to much about the actual numbers.  My beta numbers are in my siggy but again, don't focus on the numbers, just the doubling, because the range of "normal" is so huge.  Have you put yours into betabase yet to see the actual doubling time?  That might make you feel better?  I know it's scary but try to have good thoughts for now.

?I just went over to beta base and my numbers seems to fit into the acceptable range. ?

  • I responded on Friday, but just in case you didnt see it. My first beta was only 5 and two days later it was 17. It's a good sign that your beta doubled. Good luck!!!

That's great!  There's also a fun site called babymed.com which lets you plot the values on a chart, I found this useful once I had three betas because it did not let me put in my 11dpo value.
