I knew someone that was an ultrasound tech and accidentally did this early in her career. She was mortified (as she should have been).

This - for several reason! It's not like they just ram it up there vaginally, they go fairly slow and let's face it, it goes right in. I would think that the other way would be, umm, more difficult. OP - did you manage to stop it before the mistake was fully made or was the tech just a little to close for comfort? Unreal. What a horrible experience!
