FTM Question Re: Swaddling

This may be a stupid question - so I've registered for the typical swaddle blankets as well as the A&A easy swaddlers. I've received two of the A&A easy swaddlers in the small/medium size. I have one more on my registry - should I change it from a size S/M to a size L? Do babies like to be swaddled at that age/size still?

In my experience, it totally depends on the baby. My DD really didn't care to be swaddled so we never really did, but I had a friend who had a baby that she swaddled until he could roll over because he slept so much better. So it might just be a "wait and see" thing for your LO.

Even if the baby likes it, will a baby still enjoyed being swaddled past 3 months? I guess I could just not wash this one and return if baby still likes it past 3 months or if baby hates it altogether.

FTM also, but both my nephews hated being swaddled and liked to spread out when sleeping so I agree with the PPs who say it depends on the baby. My SIL wasted money on swaddling blankets she didn't need in the end. They were both out of moses baskets after a few weeks too, just because they liked to take up maximum space. IA with PP who said to keep some in their packaging until you're sure.

I am an FTM as well and my family told me to register for only the larger swaddle blankets. My cousins all thought it was easier to swaddle with more material.

My kid probably would have fit into the s/m at 6m. I would wait and upsize when and if you need too.

We swaddled DS until he was close to 6 months old. I would have a least a few larger swaddles on hand in case your LO loves it.

You'll be able to buy larger swaddles later if you find you need them. We only swaddled until 4 months (she was around 12lbs)

I seriously thought my DS was going to pass his first birthday in the swaddle. If that kid wasn't buttoned up like a burritto he barely slept. I say wait and see how baby likes it first. My neices hated the swaddle!

Easy swaddles are ore made Swaddlers. Not blankets. Blankets wouldn't be sized the same way.
