What time will your LO's bday party be held?

I can't decide what time to have my LO's bday party...It's going to be over Memorial Day weekend. LO usually wakes up between 7:30-8:00 so I don't want to do it too early in the day to where I'm scrambling around before guests arrive. So, what time will yours be, and/or what time would you prefer as a guest?

  • I struggled with this. I decided on noon to 2 because it is when he is most awake in between his 2 naps.

  • @Oohgurl I totally forgot about naptime...crap. She usually is asleep at 11am, guess that answers my question! Of course her "routine" could totally go out the window before then too.

My LO is in daycare and they all go down for nap at 1:30, so I think I am pretty safe in his routine staying the same. My other alternative was going to be 3-5 but he turns into a pumpkin later in the day.

  • I was thinking 12-2. She usually has a nap in the morning and then one around 3ish. So I figured we we try to have in in between the 2 naps. If she is down to one by then I'm sure could make it till 2.

  • Probably 5. We are nighttime party people. It'll be family (still about 25 people) so we will do pizza and cake.

  • We are doing Memorial Day weekend too (that Saturday) and will likely have a brunch at around 12.  The party is at my mom's and will be mostly family so pretty low key.  I do plan to put LO down for a nap there during the party if necessary.
  • Not sure on the date....june. but thinking 11-4. ???,

  • 11:30-2:30. Hoping he could then take his morning nap and be good for the party
  • We are probably starting at 12:00 but we might go for 2:00. There is no end time when my family has a party, it ends when it winds down and people go home. We just have to decide if we want lunch or an early dinner.
  • I was thinking 1 or 2 and it will last for 2 hours.

  • 2pm. 2-4 is his best window between naps.
  • I said on the invitation that people can come anywhere between 1 and 4. Since all the babies will l likely need naps.

We are doing 2pm. She normally naps 10-1 so she will be plenty happy and energized for the party.

Your baby naps for 3 hours at a time? Lucky!

  • We're having it start at 3:30. Tyler only takes an afternoon nap and gets up around 2:30 or 3:00. A lot of our friends who are coming also have kids under 2 years old. That way the other kids can get their afternoon naps in as well before coming to the party.
  • We are doing 2-5. *If* she naps (not common in our house...) she usually sleeps at noon for an hour and then starts getting sleepy again around 4ish but I'm hoping all the sugar from her cake keeps her going for the extra hour!

  • Well I have now changed it to 2-4 since I ended up renting a hall yesterday. I am so afraid of rain and my house is just not big enough. The hall wasn't available until 1:30.

  • 4:30. It's at our house and we just do dinner and the kids play. Nothing formal.

  • We just decided on 2:30, knowing most of our guest will arrive around 3 or so.

  • Noon-4 for us. She'll nap til 11:30 and fingers crossed make it to a late 4pm nap instead of the usual 3pm...
  • 1pm is nap time, and 11 feels too early, so I'm thinking 3-6 pm.  I have no idea, really.  Maybe 11-1 would be better.
  • 2-4 ish

  • We're doing 11 right after her morning nap since the party is a couple of hours away from most attendees. Then they can do a round trip in a day if they want

  • Noon-3, since lunch will be served....and wine pops!!
