chicken pox party at our house

Hey All,

So we officially have the chicken pox less than 3 months after getting vaccinated. My poor little guy is covered in blisters and is itchy. He isn't as itchy as I thought he would be so hopefully the vaccine will make it less worse.

My in laws are here on spring break, but because he is contagious, we are homebound. We can play outside, thank God, but I need some great indoor activities as well.

Oy! How common is it to get chicken pox after the vaccine, I wonder? What did your doctor say? Hope he is past the contagious stage soon!

Doctor said this happens, vaccine is about 85% effective. The child he got it from was also vaccinated...

Ugh, so sorry. At least he is young and won't remember it. I will never forget the oatmeal baths my mom gave me when I had chicken pox at age 7. Gross (but they did help).

Oh no! I hope everything goes as well as it can until he's better! My ped. told me it is a possibility that they may get chicken pox but it won't be nearly as bad as if they didn't get the vacc. I'm hoping for the best for you and your LO!

I too have heard from our doctor and other parents that if the LO is vaccinated the symptoms are less severe. But still, it has to be uncomfortable. I hear the oatmeal baths do work...hope everyone feels better soon!
