Easter baskets

What's in your LO's easter basket so far? What do you plan on putting in there?

Re: Easter baskets

  • We don't have anything so far and were just talking about this yesterday but neither of us had any ideas.  I'd like to avoid candy since MIL will give him tonnes of that which I'll just end up eating myself anyway.  I was thinking maybe a new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse DVD and a stuffed Mickey if I can find one.  Then maybe some cheapie outdoor/beach toys like shovels, watering can, etc.

I'll be keeping an eye on this post for some more ideas.

  • I got DS's last weekend. He got a sensory on the farm book, the happy easter mouse book, a "carrot" filled with reeses pieces m&m's, peeps, and minion mini movies.
  • I'm making these cute little stuffed bunnies (well, they're supposed to be bunnies, and I hope she thinks they're cute) and will put them in some kind of basket, probably with some Dove chocolate easter eggs.

  • Books and a toy school bus. We don't buy too much for Easter.
I think that is perfect! I think total i spent like maybe 15 bucks. I love the dvd $5.00 bin at walmart!!
  • Definitely one of the hollow chocolate eggs filled with M&Ms. Beyond that, no clue. Last year I put together a fairly elaborate basket but this year his birthday is just ten days later.

  • Probably some Sofia my daughter can't get enough of her

  • FFMC: I have never made an easter basket for my child. He is totally unaware of the holiday. I feel like I have lost the joy -- that little kid feeling that you all probably get putting this stuff together.

    I think I'm broken.

My MIL did get him a basket last yet (although he had no clue why) and it had summer sandals, a new outfit, a book whose main character shared DS's name, a puzzle, and bubbles.

  • Purée pouches, a stuffed animal, and some little toys

  • A mini Lego City car for her to put together (like 10 bucks) and 4 things of candy/snacks.  A box of fun dip (her fave), pastel/easter sweettarts, a reeses PB egg and some vanilla cupcake goldfish.

  • I use the holiday to refresh some summer toys.  DS is getting:

    Sidewalk chalk

Huge container of bubbles for his bubble lawnmower

    Balance bike and helmet

    Curious George Easter book

    Kashi chocolate granola bars

Pouches (he never gets them, so they're a real treat)

  • I plan to avoid the candy/present basket as long as possible.

We make a traditional ethnic/symbolic basket to bring to church to be blessed. Ham, bacon, kielbasa, pascha bread, homemade cheese, butter, salt, eggs, beet horseradish and alcohol!
  • No basket here yet, but I think both her aunts on DHs side are making her a basket.

DH bought her a stuffed bunny 2 weeks ago when she had a stomach bug...what else do you put in a basket for a 16 month old who doesn't eat candy, could care less about TV and already has dozens of stuffed animals?

I did a chunky bunny puzzle when DS was that age. As a bonus, it took up almost the whole basket.
