How much frozen stash to toss? Thrush.

I was EP while working in getting LO to latch after tongue tie correction and built up a large supply and freezer stash.

We've been moving toward all breast and away from bottles. I found out today I have thrush. I believe symptoms started on Saturday which is about when he started nursing directly 100%. Man, this hurts terribly!!!

My question - how much of my freezer stash do I toss? Back to when symptoms began? All of it? It's all from the last month or so. (LO is 6 weeks).

I have almost 600 oz stockpiled and would lose my mind if it all has to go. :(especially after battling low supply with my first kiddo. I can't replenish because I've let my supply regulate now (corrected oversupply).

Thanks for any advice! I'll take thrush battling tips, too.
I hope to create a real siggy but first I need some sleep!

Mom to Lily and Colin!

Re: How much frozen stash to toss? Thrush.

  • I asked this about 10 months ago when we got thrush, and after multiple replies I didn't throw anything out. I put stars on the bags I pumped while I had it (and about 1 week before), and just didn't use more than one of those bags in a day. We never had a reoccurrence. Remember, yeast are always living on/in us - thrush is just when it gets out of control. It's not like you have a virus or something floating around in your milk :)
