How much frozen to toss? Thrush.

I was EP while working in getting LO to latch after tongue tie correction and built up a large supply and freezer stash.

We've been moving toward all breast and away from bottles. I found out today I have thrush. I believe symptoms started on Saturday which is about when he started nursing directly 100%. Man, this hurts terribly!!!

My question - how much of my freezer stash do I toss? Back to when symptoms began? All of it? It's all from the last month or so. (LO is 6 weeks).

I have almost 600 oz stockpiled and would lose my mind if it all has to go. :(especially after battling low supply with my first kiddo. I can't replenish because I've let my supply regulate now (corrected oversuppy).

Thanks for any advice! I'll take thrush battling tips, too. :)
I hope to create a real siggy but first I need some sleep!

  • I don't know your answer for sure, but thought it was an interesting question. You may have already read this on kelliemom, but gives some information.

It doesn't answer your question exactly, But it seems that you could boil or scald milk that may have yeast and still keep your stash

  • You don't have to toss it.
Just scald it before giving to LO.

I wouldn't store any milk from now until you have finished the treatment though.

Thrush is a beast....sorry you are going through it!
  • Can I ask you ladies how you knew it was thrush? I've had a sharp nipple pain (particularly on one side) and have been using Dr. Google to try and find out what it is and I'm worried it might be thrush.

I'll be calling the doctor but because it's the weekend not until Monday (unless anyone thinks it's an issue for immediate concern) :((
