What hospital to choose?

I just found out I am pregnant and am wondering which hospitals are best for delivery. This Is my first pregnancy and we just moved to Nassau county so I have to find an OB and hospital! I live in the Wantagh/bellmore/Merrick area. I know some hospitals have single rooms now and I think that's what I am looking for. Thanks :-)

    It depends where your ob delivers. You have to go where they are. North Shore Manhasset hS private rooms guAranteed but you have to find a practice that delivers there. I see cafaro, Rosenberg and McNally in Garden City, that is where they deliver.

    South Nassau is amazing. Private rooms and awesome nurses. Had my 1st there and will have this one there too. If you decide on South Nassau, I see Dr. Plotnitskiy. He is a great OB. Super office, no wait time. Great OB.

    I live in the same area and found a great OB in Bellmore on Merrick Rd. that delivers at LIJ. My doc in the city recommended there and the reviews are great. They just built a brand new wing and have everything there.

    The most popular hospitals to deliver in Nassau seem to be North Shore LIJ, LIJ New Hyde Park, South Nassau and Winthrop.  I believe Winthrop is the only hospital that doesn't have private rooms but I've never been to that hospital so I could be wrong.  I'm delivering at North Shore LIJ.  I've heard mixed reviews but it's where my doctor delivers so that's where I will be delivering.  Do you currently have an obgyn?  If so then you can find out where they deliver, sometimes they give you a choice of 2 hospitals if they work out of more than one hospital.

    i can't recommend LIJ enough! Private rooms and super nice nurses. And the food is amazing!! Sounds weird I know, maybe it was me being super hungry after the delivery but boy ohh boy... it was good. Overall the hospital looks more like a hotel.
