  I actually live in Texas and am on medicaid too! From what I've been told, it depends on who you have your medicaid plan with. For example, I have my plan through Texas children's something or other and they basically said that a dr has to write a prescription for a pump, and I have to get it from a medical supply store. So i guess as far as brand goes, you would have to choose from what they have at the medical supply store. If you're on medicaid, you can most likely qualify for WIC which I know they'll also supply you with one, but I think you rent it for as long as you need it. I'm not 100% sure though since I didn't get mine through WIC.

  I'm getting conflicting answers... I'm in Florida and from this it sounds like it is covered.   @JKBMA2014‌ I had to call the people I have my plan through, which was Texas children's something? (Not 100% about the name of the group). I don't know how medicaid is set up in Fl, but for TX, I had to choose from a list of maybe 5 plans, all set up by different groups. My OB only accepts 2 of the 5 plans so I chose between the 2 plans.

  I was put on pregnancy medicaid and was not given any specific group. Just a gold card.
