Shower this past weeked- BRU didn't update well for us

Everything went very well, but I was surprised that a lot of the items we received did not show as purchased on our registry (even though we have gift reciepts for some of these). It was BRU that didn't update well for us. So I'm going to return and re-buy the items so we get credit for the "sweetest deal" registry thing. Did you have any issues with BRU not updating your registry? We've had several issues with BRU all along, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I don't suggest registering there based upon our experiences.

  • Just because they had a gift receipt doesn't necessarily mean they used your registry to buy it.

    Regardless, I wouldn't return/re-buy unless you try other things first like going to customer service and asking them to just mark it as purchased.

  • If you just ask them to mark as purchased it won't count for the "sweetest deal" where you get 10% back. I want that money so we're doing the return/re-buy. Worth it to us since we have to go there anyway (wrong size for season on some things).

  • I had to return and then buy a few items again yesterday. The lady wasn't too happy but I didn't really care. Not sure if people didn't tell them my name for the registry or what, but we got a few things that were still showing on the registry. I want credit for everything, even if it is only $5.
  • Is the deal still going on? If you look at your BRU rewards purchases, it says that Registry Rewards ended on March 31. Not sure if that's the same thing or if they have extended the registry deal again. I hate BRU and we got a lot of items that didn't update on our registry.

The thing that is stopping is the VIB card and the thing where if other BRU rewards customers buy you something where you both get the points for it. For a while both the registrant and the buyer would get the points for the purchase, but now it no longer goes to both. I have this all in writing sent to my email address, because I do not trust them.

  • I had this problem with Target at my shower this weekend. Although only one person bought from BRus so that doesn't say much. But I got a lot of duplicates bc people bought things I already had as they weren't marked off.

    My shower was this weekend. my BRU registry said nothing was purchased off if it even though a lot of stuff was. I received 5 bathtubs and some other multiples. I had friends and family that know for sure the cashier scanned the paperwork. I am really annoyed because I am sure it screws up the "sweetest registry" deal. Taking stuff back is annoying, but I will be complaining if I don't get that giftcard I am expecting for registering with them.
  • @Mimaloo‌ you had to register by March 31st to be included in the "sweetest registry" thing. As long as you were registered before that date you get the perks of the promotion.
  • My crib was bought as a joint gift, and it wasn't taken off my registry. I chatted online with a rep, told him that the person who made the purchase had my registry scanned, and I wanted it to be updated to go towards the Sweetest Deal. He took care of it for me and said it would count. I did not have to to a return and re-purchase.

    Keep in mind that if you return the item and then repurchase it, it's possible that the price that was paid when it was first purchased might not be the same price now, you could have to pay some out of pocket if it was on sale when it was first bought, etc. I'd look into seeing if they'd credit it accordingly first.

  • I called for the items I knew were purchased via the registry but were not marked as purchased. They had no problem fixing it and my registry was updated and correct within 15 minutes of the call.
