OK so I work on Tuesday and DD would be going to her in-home DC.  DC provider talks to me last week and says that something came up and she has to take her son to a doc apt in the city at 1245 that day.  She said that if I still needed DD to come to DC she could either go with her and her older son to the appointment or stay at her home with her younger son who would be watched by her mother. 

So what would you do? 

1. Let DC provider drive her to the appointment.  It is like a 45 minute drive in a large city.  Plus I dont love the idea of her hanging out in a clinic waiting to get sick from something. :)

OR

2. Leave her with the grandma.  I trust my DC provider so I am assuming her mom is a fine person and I like that DD would be in the environment she knows with the other little boy however we have never left her with anyone besides family and the DC provider ever yet and I am worried that the first time we do that it will be four hours and I am not able to get her if it is a trainwreck. 

My DH works that day and MIGHT be able to get her if she melts down for the grandma but it isn't easy for him so I dont want to have to bank on that.

I dont know.  What would you do?

    I'd say 2 but maybe the grandma can be around all day so your DC provider can decide whether or not it's going well enough to leave LO when she goes to the Dr appointment. Maybe if it isn't going well with grandma she can make the decision to take her to the appointment.

    Iwould go with option 2. No exposure to extra germs. And she might be fine, especially being in her usual surroundings and will likely be kept on her normal schedule that's he has at daycare. I bet she will be better than you think.

    I would opt. for 2 as well, would grandma be there when you drop DD off? Maybe you could meet her, that would ease my mind greatly too for my final decision :)
