Decreasing RAST Score

Today, I received the happy news that my 2.5 y.o. DS's RAST score for a peanut allergy decreased since his last blood test. Over the course of 11 months, it went from a 4.52 to a 2.32. Has anybody else's LO ever experienced a similar drop and if so, did he/she eventually outgrow the allergy? I understand that once a RAST hits 2.0, there's a 20% likelihood of this happening (at least for peanuts).

My allergist says if it starts dropping or doesn't go up after 5 yrs and it's relatively low they are not considered allergic anymore and will start doing challenges for nuts specifically.

Ours hasn't been retested yet but I'm curious. We were up at 13 at 2 so he doesn't foresee change but I'd welcome it
  • This is great news! Congrats!
