Babies: 6 - 9 Months

help.....

My LO just turned 8 months and for over a month now we have had sooo much trouble feeding her, bottles and solids. She is taking solids fine now but still not bottles. She has already cut back 1 bottle a day, and she is still fussy during those feedings. She just cries and throws a fit flailing her arms and legs around. For a couple weeks I was able to get her to take her whole bottle but singing to her but it doesnt work anymore. And I was the only one who this worked for (not even my hubby could feed her). Doc saw her at 7 months and said it was normal for her to cut back a little bit and thought she was fussy because of teething....but here we are a month later and still fussy with no teeth. Need help... anyone else have this issue??

Re: help.....

  • No real help, but if she is teething she might be in discomfort trying to eat.  Even if you can't see the teeth yet, they could be affecting her.

  • I would take her back to the doctor again. Is she eating some of the bottle then resisting or refusing it from the start? Maybe reflux, an allergy, I really don't know but I would take her back and explain it's been a solid month of poor eating. They can check her weight for one but also even if they find nothing and still think it's teething you'll feel better to have had her checked out.

  • It's frustrating I know! The only additional advice I have is just from personal experience whenever my little guy has had an ear ache or congestion he doesn't take his bottles well. Good luck maybe just a phase too our LOs are growing up so fast!
