Low blood glucose levels after 1 hour glucose challenge test. Anyone else?

I did my 1 hour glucose challenge test last week.  I didn't expect to hear from my doctor until my appointment this coming Thursday but I saw that my labs are available online.  I was surprised that my blood glucose level was actually low.  It was 78 with a normal range of 90-139.

I'm just curious who else had this result and what your doctor had to say about it.  Last pregnancy I think my results were in the high 80s and considered normal.

  • Mine was 68, and the doctor said it was normal.  I know I'm just a touch hypoglycemic normally anyway.  It just means that if you don't eat you might get shaky, so just eat lots of healthy snacks throughout the day.

  • Mine was 83 but my doctor said anything between 70-100 was normal. My friend had 135 during her pregnancy and had to go back for the longer testing. I would say it is a good thing for your body to process the sugar quickly.
  • Mine was 56!! Although I had not eaten since the night before. I felt completely fine, but it made me think what my glucose level was before drinking the drink. Yikes!! The doc didn't seemed concerned, just told me to go get breakfast right away, which I was planning on doing anyway! Ps my appt was at 10am and I had last eaten at like 9 or 10 pm. So I wasn't purposely fasting or anything.
  • Mine was 46! The nurse totally freaked me out about it because she sounded shocked. I felt fine too, she was surprised I didn't feel like passing out. My midwife said they won't retest but that I need to be aware of any symptoms I get.. Headache, dizziness etc and make sure to eat lots of snacks. I haven't had any of those symptoms and I eat all the time. I don't get it.

  • I didn't get my results until Sunday, tested on Weds.  My hands were shaking during the test and I felt off-kilter, but I expected that.  I felt even worse when I did it with DD1.
