So I broke my left ring finger at work today. An accident lead to a giant dog biting down on my finger and his canine pierced right through the first knuckle breaking the joint and the tendon that enables me to move the finger. Plastics couldn't see me today so my hand is splinted until they can because a cast will fix the bone, not the tendon. Now I'm not able to use my left hand for 2 weeks! Of course DH isn't back from training until Friday night so I'm down a hand AND a parent until then. The carseat has already proven to be a challenge. Seriously, this couldn't have happened next week when I wasn't alone? Who volunteers to come over and wash my hair? lol. *Sigh*
Re: For real? (warning: some gross details involving broken bones)
I only asked about the car seat because Lucas has been doing it for awhile since his brother does he likes to, too.
GAH!!!! I went for a check up and quite possibly corrective surgery. I was optimistic because it looked so great at my last bandage change.
NOPE! Took of the bandage and yellow pus was everywhere. I'm so mad!!! They had to freeze, debride, clean and re-wrap it. I have to continue IV antibiotics, change the bandage twice a day and wear my sling all day at work. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU HAND!! I just want my hand back. I slept better when DD was nursing every 2 hours. Sick of pain and exhaustion.

On the up side, DH came with me and saw my finger first hand. Then he took me out for lunch. I think he thought I was being a cry baby and exaggerating my pain all week. Changed his tune when he almost threw up at the sight of it. My nurse almost gagged too but that's a separate grievance altogether. >:P
I'm not sure how you're handling the whole situation, but my hat's off to you!
I'm queasy just reading about your pain. I can't even imagine actually being in that much pain.
Hope you have a speedy recovery.
Yogurt is my friend but garlic makes me gag lol. I don't even like garlic bread.
I'm mainly trying to rest. I have today off so I've done a lot of sleeping and treated myself to a house cleaner today. My house is cleaning as I type this! Man, I wish I could afford this on a regular basis.
