Im so confused by how often my now 6 month old should be nursing/getting a bottle. I work so DS unusually get a 4oz pumped bottle every 2.5/3 or so hours (if I'm not working I nurse him on the same schedule). He typically will also nap after a feeding, so he naps every 3 hours too. This equals out to about 6/7 feeding in a day and about 3/4 30-60 minute naps. Several friends with younger breastfed children were mentioning that they are down to 4 feedings a day. Should I increase the amount he gets in his bottles and he will naturally just go longer in between feedings or will I just be stretching his belly and then not produce enough to satisfy his hunger.
tl;dr Im so confused on when to increase pumped bottles.

Re: Explain to me when I increase pumped bottles
Some kids just need that extra cuddle time with mom. Or mom doesn't store quite as much milk at one time so baby needs more sessions to get what he/she needs. As long as you and baby are happy, no reason to follow what anyone else is doing.
We never did more than 5oz at a time in a bottle, so that meant they had to eat more often (this when my son was in daycare.
I never got down to less than 6 or 7 nursings when just breastfeeding directly, even with my 16 month old. We gradually lessened when I decided to wean, but if it was up to him, we would have kept nursing that often (I weaned to get pregnant again).
