Hi Ladies!
I have technically been high risk since I became pregnant due to a loss at 22w3d from PPROM. I haven't intro-ed because honestly everything has been smooth sailing until recently. I never had MS or any ailments other than the occasional heart burn occurrence. At 16 weeks I started Makena injections weekly (17P) as well as bi-weekly cervical length checks with the MFM.
At 21 weeks I started to feel contractions, and everyone told me they were BH so nothing to worry about. By the end of the night I was having painful contractions so I went into the hospital and they gave me terbutaline to stop them. The injection and some IV fluids helped stop my contractions, and they sent me home after an ultrasound confirmed my cervix shortened by 1 cm (previous 4.2 and went to 3.2). I followed up with the MFM about 2 weeks later and no change. I went in on Thursday and my cervix measured 2.1cm. The MFM handed me some paperwork and told me I needed to go straight to the hospital and that I would be there for the weekend.
When I arrived at the hospital and was hooked up to the monitor they found I was having contractions. I thought it was just the baby balling up/rolling around in there because they felt totally different then they did 4 weeks ago. I was given an IV of magnesium sulfate (which was TERRIBLE!) and then steroid injections to speed up baby's lung development. After 12 hours my contractions really dropped off. Then I went 24 hours without a single one. They did another ultrasound and my cervix is at 1.8 (MFM's orders stated that if I was above 1.5 I could go home on strict bed rest).
So here I am, on bed rest "until further notice" according to my doctors. I have a follow up in 5 days and then every week thereafter. Hopefully nothing changes, and I am actually really hoping that I am able to have modified bed rest where I can return to work. I am a very active person so this is driving me nuts! I wanted to introduce myself to you lovely ladies, and join the bed rest check-in board as well.
Thanks for reading if you made it through all that!!

Re: Intro *loss mentioned* (long)
I have no advice I just wanted to say I'm sorry for your loss and hope you keep this little one in there as long as possible. I also PPROMed but earlier then you at 18w and will be getting p17 shots next pregnancy and am trying to decide whether to push for a preventative cerclage early on or not.
Good Luck and FX.

Cerclage, P17, and 3 months of bed rest brought us our Rainbow.
Dum spiro, spero.
I dealt with PTL with my son 4 years ago. Meds and bedrest for 8 weeks kept him safely inside.
Now with baby #2 I started with PTL at 25 weeks, but am now approaching 30 weeks. Each day is a victory and even though I am going crazy most days, I know I'm doing what's best for my little baby.
Keep your head up mama! Netflix, ordering baby stuff online and crochet kill time. Reading is also a good way to kill time. Definitely feel free to check in whenever with the rest of us.

My doctors always said the highest level NICU doesn't compare to the mothers body. Like my 4 year old says: baby you better stay in there where it's nice warm and cozy just for you until you're big and strong.
And just think it will all be over before we know it and then well be walking zombies due to lack of sleep. Lol
