Best & Worst presents

Best: a wagon!  DD loves riding around the neighborhood in the wagon rather than her stroller.
Worst: the most clown-like outfit I have ever seen.  Large black and white polka-dots, stripes, and pink ankle ruffles.

Re: Best & Worst presents

  • Our best was a push bike (he can pedal or put his feet up) or Scout. The worst was some gifts from my Aunt (in law) who got stuff for little babies like a giraffe with a receiving blanket and a little mirror that are too young for him now. She never had kids so I suppose we should just over look it.

  • His view not mine....best gift push lawn mower, worst he probably doesn't care about the clothes but mom was super happy.
  • Best (per him) the classic ball popper push toy (obnoxious) my fave - a pair of toms

    Worst- Ball popper lol.

Lol I almost got one of those for DD bc she always likes them at the store but...

Best: most if them: jack in the box, numbers puzzle, shapes sorter, a chicken dance robot, a hammer and pegs... Pretty much everything she recieved was a hit.

Worst: MOAR plush toys. Why is it that nearly every relative (the older ones, those who currently have young children know better) wants to buy 1-3 plush toys for the LOs in their lives at every gift giving occasion?

Currently there are three or four times as many plush creatures in our home as there are living creatures and I edit! DD is bored with any plush toys that I can't make a sound or make up a song for anyway.

  • Thankfully, we didn't get anything too strange or annoying. My favorites are the wagon and a car that plays "Eye of the Tiger", it's kind of funny.

And the plush toys are annoying, my LO is not interested in most of them either. We got a lot when he was born but none for his birthday.

  • Best: Radio Flyer push bikes and a 2-seater wagon

Worst: new summer clothes in size 3T (talk about delayed gratification...good grief! What was the thought process there..."Why get them clothes to wear this summer when we can get them clothes to wear two summers from now instead?")

I get large sizes from my sister-in-law.  She has a 3yo and I frequently get 3T items as "gifts" from her.  I know she's just re-gifting what she doesn't like or need and it's annoying to me.  Her daughter's birthday was right before Xmas and DD got a re-gifted doll for xmas.  Yeah, if I saw your kid open it, you probably shouldn't re-wrap it and give it to my kid.
  • Best gifts were probably this doll set that had a stroller, crib, and a highchair for dad's doll that she loves

Worst were probably clothes that were wayyy too big. My mil shops at children's place a lot for DD and they run very small on her, so she fits most 2t stuff perfectly now and is growing into some smaller 3t. Well mil didn't understand that those sizings are unique to children's place and told her side of the family DD wears 3t. So now I have a shit ton of HUGE 3 and 4t items that will just be collecting dust for at least a year.

My lo is probably going to be in 3t by the end of summer...it's crazy.
  • Best: an obnoxious singing/talking plush dog that ds likes.

worst: two outfits from different people both in size 12mo -- a size ds has been wearing since last fall and will be outgrowing soon and that I have more than enough in......so now I'm debating do I find a way to exchange them or do I re-gift them to a friend who had her son 2 days before ds's 1st birthday.

somewhere between best and worst is a Melissa and Doug stacking train designed for 2+.  I didn't even open it --just put it away until next year.

We have that train, and DD3 loves it. She started playing with it around 9-10 months.

Best gifts: pillow pet, large mega blocks, wooden shape sorter, balls

Worst: clothes - I have two girls worth of clothes in every imaginable size. I feel bad when LO barely gets to wear things because she just has so much.
