High risk pregnancy iugr update

Hello ladies! I could use some support and encouraging words. My baby dropped to the 3rd percentile and hasn't grown much in the last few weeks. My dr said there is a 60-70 percent chance of delivering before 37 weeks and a 99.9 percent chance right at 37 weeks. Baby is only 2.4 pounds at 31 weeks. I have appts and ultrasounds twice a week and am meeting with the high risk prenatal dr at mayo clinic tomorrow. Does anyone have advice? Similar experiences? My June baby is now an anytime baby and I'm so afraid and anxious right now. Luckally all of mr care has been at mayo clinic because my husband works there. This is the only thing msking me feel better right now.

  • I'm sorry to hear this - I'm regularly monitored for the possibility of IUGR, but so far we've been fortunate.  It sounds like you have great care, and if they end up delivering your baby early, it just means that they think baby could grow better outside at this point.  I'm not sure there is anything you can do - maybe other ladies will chime in - but sending you positive thoughts!

    Sending T&P your way
  • T&Ps!!! Try to rest as much as possible. My friend's baby was not gaining weight inside and she was put on bed rest. She delivered at 36 weeks, baby had to go to NICU for 3 days and now at 6 months she is perfect! Good luck but thankfully you are pretty far along :)

  • Back in 2008 and 2009 I worked at the Mayo Clinic in MN. I have never been through what u are going through, but do know make sure to ask questions and the doctors at Mayo will do there best to help you understand. Hope everything goes good. FX that baby stays put for a couple more weeks.

  • No experience but I watched the Business of Being Born and it dealt with this issue and the baby, although small, was 100% healthy. And it's great that they have identified the issue and sounds like you have the best care possible! Please keep us posted. T&Ps!
