Hello all,
I have actively posted here and there when I felt I could be helpful on this site for a few months.
I figured it was time to formally introduce myself in the hopes that I can continue to help other ladies in blended families.
I am 31yo and married to DH for 2.5years now. DH has 2 children (13yo SS and 9yo SD) to 2 different BM.
We have very good communication with SS's BM and there has been no formal update to the custody order since SS was 2 years old.
We won custody of my SD 1 year ago and have a terrible relationship with her BM. Her BM has mental health along with drug/alcohol troubles and is unable to care for SS properly. Our current agreement is SD is with us M-F and every other weekend, but her BM "kicked her out" about 10 weeks ago and we haven't heard from her since. SD is having some difficulty controlling her emotions at home and specifically with other children at school so we have her in family/individual counseling which has been very helpful.
We are expecting our LO in June and everyone in our family is very excited. This is my first child but I'm happy to welcome him or her into our current family.
I'm really happy that TB has this group as I have found it helpful in the past.
