Mismatched cribs? Why do I care so much??

We have a crib from our first two but it was really expensive and this being the last pregnancy is doesn't make sense to spend the money. I am just having such an issue with a mismatched nursery. The current crib is off white(almost yellow) and the walls in the nursery are brown. We can paint if we need but I would love to see your pics of a "mismatched" nursery!

  • I would use that Annie Sloan paint (it is a chalk paint...so no prep sanding is needed,) I repainted a bathroom cabinet and it turned out so awesome.

  • Having mismatched nursery furniture would bug me too. However, my cousin has twin girls and painted the cribs different colors and it's really cute. I never even looked to see if they were the same cribs or just similar styles since I'm sure one of the cribs is from her older child.

  • I was the same way! We also had an offwhite crib that we used for our older 2 dgirls and I was not liking the idea of the cribs not matching. Ours was also pretty expensive. It was a sleigh crib though and pretty big so we really needed 2 smaller ones. I ended up selling it on craigslist for a pretty good price and bought 2 cheaper ones (still good quality). I'm so happy I did!
  • We had mismatched cribs (both were white) and now mismatched toddler beds. I'm usually really picky about decor, but it turned out fine. As long as they don't clash it's actually not that bad. And like PP said, you can always use chalk paint (LOVE that stuff).
For me free won over matching!
