Picture books you like?

DS has gotten so tired of his books at home (even though we have a ton), so we've been getting picture books from the library. I would LOVE some recommendations for picture books you like! DS sits through them pretty well, as long as there are few sentences on each page and not paragraphs of it. He also has a preference for books with vehicles or animals.

It's hard for me to just randomly pick books while we are at the library, cuz DS is constantly on the move and I don't have time to flip through the books. But if I can arm myself with a list of authors and/or book titles, it'll make the process much smoother.

ETA: by picture books, I mean picture story books that have soft pages, not board books. We have a number of Sandra Boynton books and the That's not my... Books but DS are tired of them.

Here are some examples of picture books that DS likes:

The Usborne Phonics readers series (Toad makes a road; Goose on the loose etc)

G'night G'night construction site and Steam train Dream train

Where do diggers sleep at night

Duck on a bike

The easy reader series of Dr. Suess (eg, there's a map on my lap; would you rather be a bull frog)

The Busy Wheels series by Mandy Archer

I second Sandra Boyton. Ds loves them. He also loves anything about body parts. Nursery rhymes are a big hit. Peek-a-who is also a good one.

Another vote for sandra boyton! We have The Going To Bed Book for bedtime and Alice squeals every time I pick it up.

Do you guys get Julia Donaldson? Her books are wonderful - especially the ones illustrated by Axel Scheffel. The Gruffalo? Monkey Puzzle. Cave Baby. Charlie Cook's Favourite Book. These are huge hits in our house.

Also Maisy Mouse. They have really simple stories that LO can follow - mostly set in the home with familiar things.

Llama Llama books are great. I don't read them with DS2 yet but DS1 loves them. DS2 also loves Sandra Boynton, but you said your LO is tired of those. I don't think DS2 could ever get sick of those. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is a good one. We also like the Eric Carle books- Brown Bear, Very Busy Spider, Hungry Caterpillar, and I think 10 Rubber Ducks is what we have.

We don't have that one. Barnyard Dance is adorable. He loves The Going to Bed Book, Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs, The Belly Button Book, Doggies, and Pajama Time.
