Pregnant after IF

yep, i'm driving myself batty.

I am suffering from in between beta and first ultrasound paranoia. Currently I'm at 5w2d with u/s scheduled 4/14.  I am wondering about pre-menstrual type symptoms. I had some right when I had my BFP a week ago, then the past week I've had no symptoms at all until last night when I felt a little achey/crampy. Did anyone have these symptoms before their u/s?

Yes, I am analyzing every twinge. I stood up from the couch this morning after coming home from yoga and had a weird pain, probably from how gassy I've been but my mind went right to the negative. NUTS! I feel like a crazy person. I've had good betas. Do I need to be puking or exhausted for me to believe my pregnancy is real? Probably. Calm me down ladies! :)

Re: yep, i'm driving myself batty.

  • I've been crampy too and I'm 5 weeks. Sometimes I feel nothing at all and other times I feel a myriad of symptoms. I keep trying to tell myself that I'm not bleeding so all is ok.

I agree with the PP that this is really the hardest wait. I had to talk myself out of setting up an appt with an obgyn this next week because I want to know what's going on in there.

Hang in there! This 2ww is definitely hard.

  • Every wait between betas, ultrasounds, and MD appointments drives me crazy because I'm not puking and only experiencing fatigue, sore breasts, and bloating.

Then I remind myself that those ARE pregnancy symptoms.

  • No worries, I've been plenty crampy too. Feels just like AF cramps, but I've been assured that as long as I don't start bleeding, it's all normal.

  • You're not crazy, this is the hard part right now. It's too early for the icky symptoms, but it's far enough along to where you're obviously pregnant (even if you don't feel it!)

The first ultrasound will be here before you know it, and the few days before you'll probably be worried about what you may see. That's totally normal too!

Just keep telling yourself, today you're pregnant. Every time the doubt creeps in, push it away, because today you're pregnant and you have no reason to believe otherwise.

  • I was super crampy too.  Stretching really seemed to help.  I also noticed that I got more crampy (obviously) when I didn't drink enough water regularly.  There's a lot going on in there right now!

I agree with PP, that was the toughest time.  It's so hard to relax and let your mind enjoy this time!

  • Yes, I was super crampy. I felt like AF was around the corner and kept going to the bathroom like a nut to check! I had no other symptoms at that time other than menstrual cramps and lower back pain that I normally only got with my period.

Just wanted to add to this, if you find yourself in the situation that there is bleeding it doesn't automatically mean a loss. With my last pregnancy I had full on bleeding and (sorry TMI) even passed some clots and it was just a SCH- subchronic haematoma. I FREAKED out thinking I was miscarrying after everything we had been through but it was fine and we carried my little boy to term. His twin didn't make it but that was unrelated to the bleeding. Wish u has know about the SCH ahead of time so I wouldn't have been so up the walls.

  • If you are nervous you can always ask for another beta.  They were more than willing to do another one on me.  I'm 5w 3d and everything makes me nervous.  You are pregnant with good numbers!
