Pregnant bitches be cray

If you're still upset about my last post, feel free not to read or respond (please don't for the love of god). Anyone else: last night I started pooping and puking like crazy and I freaked out (I have anxiety and easily become crazy about illness esp while pregnant). My sister (that I spent Wednesday and Thursday with) texted me and said she has a stomach bug. So... It's probably nothing but my crazy still has me concerned. Is there such a thing as getting throw up sick if the baby is in distress? Or is that an illogical conclusion my crazy made up? Thanks!

I've not heard of that happening as a sign of fetal distress but I have zero experience to know for sure. I think it's probably safe to conclude you have a stomach bug in this case, since you had direct exposure to someone who had it and this is within the time frame you'd expect it to start from there.

No one is upset by your last post, btw. It just sounded like you were calling out the responses, which I think were totally appropriate to that OP's post. If that's not how you meant it, then fine. Miscommunication. No harm, no foul.

  • I only have 34 weeks of experience but your ute would be in distress if baby is (e.g. cramping, bleeding etc.). I had the stomach bug, it sucks - its hurts and makes you feel so guilty for not eating and drinking. People also get awful morning sickness … everything ends up fine.

If you concerned call you doc and drink some gatorade and hope for the best! Good luck!
  • I had the stomach flu this week---no signs or symptoms that anything was wrong with baby--just me puking my face off. I also had a MW appt yesterday and baby's all good-it's likely it's just a bug you caught from your sister...but if you are really concerned, you can always call your OB/MW
  • it sounds like the stomach bug.

I got food poisoning at 36 weeks with DS1. It was not in any way pleasant, and I ended up sleeping on the bathroom floor, but he was totally fine. The way it becomes a problem is if you can't keep fluids down and become dehydrated. Then you may need to go to L&D for an IV. Also if you get a fever or uteran cramping, or the symptoms you already have don't resolve in 48 hours, make sure you check in regularly with your OB.

  • I don't think people were upset with your post, it's just that this late in the game things can really go wrong quickly so if you think something is not right a call to your doctor should absolutely be the FIRST thing you do before asking for advice from strangers on the internet. People were more concerned for your well being and that of your baby than anything.
  • You could easily become dehydrated and that would be a problem.

  • @lindseylu10 she wasn't the OP on that thread. Different issue.

  • No dehydration. I was on gut rest for a good couple hours but was still peeing so I wasn't dehydrated. I've been able to keep food down all day... Hooray!
  • My response to feelings of cray cray is, call your doctor. They will ease your crazy feelings faster than anyone on here! And that way you aren't putting your LO at any risk. Dr. Know best and it's usually only 10-15 minutes of your time on a phone call.
  • If all else fails, go to the ER.
Last weekend I came down with the flu BAD and I was literally having contractions. I don't even waste time calling- (or posting on TB for that matter). I called my MIL at 3am and had her take me to the ER (DH was working) where I could be monitored.

If it gives you anxiety, go.
I'm not sure why it's even a question.
  • Haha if I went to the ER everytime I had anxiety over a symptom I would be there literally every day

  • I'm with @ohwhynot85 - I'm trying to figure out why your post titled "pregnant bitches be cray" is about potentially having a stomach bug.

  • Because she is pregnant and calls her health anxieties crazy? And is making a joke about it?
