After we left the hospital and came home, I wound up up getting a pretty bad chest cold that took over a week to get over. I tried everything I could think of to keep the germs away from baby Cruz, wore masks while feeding him, hand washing and sanitizer to the extreme, Lysol, etc you name it... My little man still caught it

he will be 2 weeks tomorrow and it is the worst listening to him struggle to breathe and cough like crazy. I took him to the pedi yesterday and basically he is too young so they can't give him anything to fight it off. We have the cool mist humidifier, saline drops, and have been putting him in the steamy bathroom 2-3 times a day. Wondering if anyone else has had a sick newborn at home and any tips to keep him comfy and get over it quicker? It seems to be worse after he eats, the formula is thick in his chest I think and that's when he coughs the most. Feeling terrible for him...

Re: Cold / virus
It stinks to have a little one sick. I know you mentioned saline drops but are you also suctioning his nose? I was worried about doing it too much but they said I could do it every hour.
Good luck! I hope he feels better soon.
