I think LO is going to be getting one soon. We go again tomorrow for head measurements and if they haven't improved significantly we're going for the helmet. His original measurements (diagonally) were off by 13mm, which is well beyond the threshold for helmet therapy recommendations, so I'm expecting that we'll be going forward with it tomorrow.
How's your LO doing with the helmet? Any issues holding up her head? Does it seem to bother her? How do people react to it when you go out?
My son has a VERY flat head. We can't seem to get him to sleep on his non-prefrerred side. I think we'll be having the helmet talk at his 4 month appt.

Your daughter is adorable!
Does he have torticollis? We've also been doing PT for the last month to help with his preference to turn to his right. He's definitely looser, although it's still a problem. I plan to keep up with the PT while he has the helmet, in hopes that we can fix the root problem.
The ortho told us he would be in the helmet 12 weeks max.

She is doing really well. The first day she was fussing like crazy because she was sweating because the first three days their bodies are adjusting to the helmet keeping heat in. Once we let her be naked she was all smiles. We decided just to go with the helmet at two months so it would be off by summer in about 4-6 weeks. She got the helmet about three weeks ago and it is way easier than trying to constantly position her She actually started rolling a week after she got it and I don't feel like she's limited at all.
As for people staring at her - they do and then look away fast because they don't know why she has it on and automatically asume she has health issues. Actually my best friend was getting annoyed at people and actually told this stuck up lady " she wears a helmet because her mommy loves wine " probably not the most appropriate answer but we had a good laugh. My mil and FIL are embarressed when we are out. They are constantly telling me to take it off or that they don't like it cause it makes them said. I said that
... Continued. .. I didn't care what they thought because it's not their kid and that they have nothing to do with what we decide for our daughter.. Lo has heart murmur and FIL went around telling people she needed heart transplant - he's annoying
Bottom line I love my lo and I think she is beautiful no matter what ... People can be ignorant but that's their problem ... I kinda find humor in watching those people squirm ha We need onsies saying " stay calm .. It's just a helmet"
Her sutures are not lining up correctly. They think it's because of how she was positioned in utero because top of her head is uneven. The more common reason is if babies are good sleepers they don't rotate head when they sleep and now that babied sleep on back their back of the heads become flat .. I never see helmets that much either
LO is only 3 months but has a flat spot from preferring one side. I actually just met with the pedi about it. She doesn't think it is that bad yet, so we are waiting until his 4 mo appt to reassess. In the meantime, I plan to make sure we do his stretches every day. She said that if he starts evening out the direction his head is turned while sleeping, there is still time for it to correct itself. We shall see!
P.S. a while ago someone posted a link to a woman who custom paints baby helmets, and they are AMAZING! If we end up with a helmet, I think we will probably have it painted.
We went to the ortho again this morning and his measurements are still way off. He got measured for the helmet and we'll get it in about a week and a half. He made it sound like it could be off in as soon as two months, so I'll keep my fingers crossed...
Jack has a consult at the end of April. We've seen an improvement over the past 4 weeks, so holding out hope it may improve enough by the appointment that we can skip it. I'm totally fine if he needs one, but one less appointment would be nice.

LO was in the NICU for 6 weeks and emerged with a strong preference for his right side. No torticollis, but a super flat spot.
I like the decoration on your LO's!
