We are heading home, by car, from Hilton head today so it made me think... what's your favorite vacation before kids, and your favorite vacation after kids?

Favorite before: cruise with my husband
Favorite after: this one was pretty great! It was so cute seeing my LO playing in the sand.

    You don't have to put kid warnings on this board. 


    I haven't been on vacation since I was around 10 y/o maybe? We're planning on taking a trip to FL with our DD this summer, so we'll probably hit up Disney World while we're out there.

    Lol we haven't been able to afford a big vacation since paying OOP for baby. We did go camping with last summer. DD was 7 months old. It was not very fun. We will not camp again until she is at least 5!! We are currently saving for a big vacation in the fall of 2015.

    TTC for 1.5 years with a crappy RE. 12 cycles with clomid (11 too many)
    New RE, 3 failed IUI's moving to IVF with ICSI
    IVF#1 BFP EDD 1/10/13
    Beta#1 51  Beta #2 148
    A/S 8/20/13 Team Pink
    Induced week 39 due to severe GD
    Baby girl born 1/4/13

    Best vacay pre-baby was actually our baby moon/anniversary trip to Morro Bay where we stayed in a super cute Inn and visited Hurst Castle and even saw the wild zebras that live on the CA coast.  I was 7 mos pregnant, so we didn't have as many cupcakes as other vacations, lol, but it was still awesome. 

    Best vacay since LO… Hmmm, that's a hard one,  We went camping last summer in Yosemite and it was beautiful, but so so hard with a 6 month old.  It was so hard that we left a day early and ended up spending that last night at Harris Ranch, a really nice ranch resort place out in the middle of nowhere off the 5 fwy,  It was so amazing but that may have something to do with the fact that we had spent the previous four nights sleeping on the ground.

    Two failed clomid cycles (made lining too thin)
    Started acupuncture while saving for IVF in Sept 2011
    Add herbal infusions to the mix in Dec 2011
    Hoping holistic approach works!!!

    Meepy Man born on Jan 2013 - Hip Hip Hurray!

    Ready to start ttc #2 April 2013, but plan to be an extended BF'er
    Back on metformin Aug 2013
    Restart herbal infusions Sept 2013 - currently drinking nettle, oatstraw, and red raspberry leaf
    DS weaned in April 2014
    Taking a break from herbs and just riding the healthy train.  
    Planning medicated cycle end of summer.  FX I get KU before then!!!

    After Kid - Disney World, we went in January and had a BLAST.  I want to go back.

    We've not had any big vacations. The best however was San Diego. Just bummed at the beach and visited the zoo there. I think it would be equally great with DD along.

    DD conceived after 3 years of ttc.
    MFI - DH had varicocele repair and took Clomid to get DD b. 02/2010

    TTC #2 since 6/2010
    10/2012 DH diagnosed with Epilepsy
    A few failed IUIs summer 2012 and 2013. 
    DH taking clomid and waiting to see if he needs another vericocele repair. 
    Hoping for a 2015 baby or babies. 
    Wishing, hoping, waiting.

    Before: Definitely our honeymoon Iceland/Scotland

    After baby, the only vacations we've been on have been with my entire family. 20 adults, 10 kids, 1 house, 12 hour drive (14 with kid). This does not qualify as a vacation for me, but DD has a good time.

    @GraceyandTroy - would you do Yosemite again when LO is older?  I've always wanted to see it, our DD is turning 2 this week, and we would probably go this summer before we try another round of IVF in July.  Do you think a 2 year old would like it?

    I actually wouldn't do it again any time soon!  It is so much work because everything has to go in the bear boxes, so it was packing and unpacking for every single meal, every time we wanted to brush our teeth or wash our hands.  It was SO MUCH WORK.  As far as age of kids, my sister's youngest was 6 and he did fine.  I think a two year old might have a hard time staying close and staying out of the fire, etc.  I think it depends on the kids.  If you're a camping type family and you like that kind of thing, then you might be fine.  I have a friend in Australia who's kids are 4, 2, and 6 mos and they spent four weeks doing a road trip/camping as they went.  They also cloth diaper!  They loved it.  I think she's crazy, lol.  But it comes down to what you like to do and what you find relaxing.  

    I would be more inclined to camp somewhere else that doesn't have the bear boxes.

    Before: a tie between visiting my friends who were studying abroad in France (I was 21 and it was my first venture out into the world alone) and my wedding (destination wedding in Jamaica).

    After: Turks and Caicos. We went to Beaches and it was amazing. We all had the best time and DS was thrilled with the plane ride and all the pools.
