Things to do (with kids) in DC?

Not sure if we have any DC moms on here, but I'm looking for recs for fun family things to do there. DH has a meeting there in a couple of weeks and the boys are off preschool that week so we are tagging along. DH will be busy the 1st 2 days and then we're planning to stay a 3rd day to do something as a family. So I'm thinking I can take them to the National Zoo one day by myself and I'd like to do the aquarium too. Wondering about the Smithsonian or monuments for a 3 & 5 year old. Is there a childrens museum or anything else cool?

We just moved from DC and already miss it for the kids. Our four year olds love the Air and Space museum and Natural History. The zoo is great as well! Have fun!

Ok I think thats good because DHs meeting is actually in Reston, which is close to Dulles, I believe?? We'll definitely aim to go there!!

The zoo is awesome. Plus the museums mentioned. The botanical gardens are right near the museums as well.

Also, check out the National Harbor. There are lots of fun stores, a new shopping outlet and resturants and you can take a ferry ride over to Old Town Alexandria, Va from there.

The zoo is one of my favorite spots! Unfortunately the acquarium in DC closed recently. There is a children's museum at National Harbor.
