Csection ladies-stomach question

My stomach is a mess. Where my scar is I have loose skin hanging over and my stomach looks like a big saggy deflated pouch. Does this ever go away? Or is this only going to be fixed by a tummy tuck?

Re: Csection ladies-stomach question

  • Mine never has. I just had my 3rd c-section so I'm sure that didn't help. Maybe I didn't do enough to try and get rid of it though.

  • I found that over time my scar got softer and that helped the hanging over the top issue. Now it's just puffy all over but it looks a little better!

  • FTM - but I've got another question for Section ladies.  Baby hit four months last Saturday, but I still get some slight twingy pains in the scar.  Anyone else feeling these?

As for the stomach/skin thing, I still have a baby pooch, so I can't really tell what my skin is going to look like once the fat goes away.

  • GTown08 in my experience 3 kids all c-section. Its normal up to about a year after the birth.
  • Yes I still get those pains too. You may also experience spots of numbness and extremely itchy areas. It can be a pain in the ass sometimes.

  • I think my scar is a little higher than others', no risk of ingrowns there! They went over a previous scar from my myomectomy (at my request) so maybe that's why. It still would be hidden by all but the skimpiest bikini bottoms. Not that I'd subject anyone to seeing me in a bikini in my current state.

Yup I get the pains as well, it's weird because my stomach is numb about an inch above and below the incision site, but I still have pain and itchy spots. As far as the hanging skin, I'm not sure. My whole stomach is pretty much still chunky, so I don't have loose skin. Not sure what will happen when I lose the baby fat.
    This.

Does anyone else get pinprick pains going up your back?  It feels sort of like when your limb falls asleep.  I've noticed it more when I get too warm.
  • Sometimes I feel like there is a butterfly in my lower stomach and yes I have the hanging skin too

  • Same here-itchiness, numbness and twingy pains. I started running again and feel them after too!

  • Every now and again I get the sensation that I am being proded by needles all over my lower tummy. My right hand lower half of my tummy is still completely numb and I have a very large overhang over my scar.
  • I've noticed that my incision area gets really really sensitive right before I start my period and the bloating/cramps is so much worse post c-section.
  • I was wondering the same thing about the excess skin/pouch. I feel like between that and my stretch marks I'll never wear a bikini again :-/
