TTC After a Loss
TTCAL Cycle #1 come in...
Just wanted to introduce myself e-formally on here. My name is Angie and DH and I live in GA. We started TTC in September 08 and got our BFP the day before Halloween. Unfortunately our baby was only with us for about 7 weeks, although I carried it for 10 weeks. We had a missed m/c and a d&c about 2 weeks ago. I have been on the PL board since then and am now making the e-jump over here! I am feeling pretty good and hoping to start next month once AF arrives. Anyone else starting in January?
Also, for those of you who have already been graced with AF's presence, did you wait for your HCG levels to go to 0 before TTC? I don't want to use an OPK or HPT and get a false positive b/c there is still HCG left over from the m/c. Anyone encounter this issue? TIA!

Welcome, and I'm sorry for your loss.
It took me about 5 weeks after D&C to get AF. I had my HCG checked about a week after D&C and it was already down to 30 something so I never went back. I don't think you can get your period until HCG levels are back to 0 but I could be wrong. I started trying again as soon as I got AF...this is my first cycle.

Welcome to this board! You will love it here, everyone is fabulous and super supportive! Congrats on starting again ... I too will be back on the ttc journey in January after a long break.
I have waited for a while after each m/c, but I was kind of forced to for various reasons both times ... so I really don't know. I don't think your body will o until you reach zero, so it makes sense to wait. My dr. told me to take a hpt when I got my first af to make sure that my levels were down. GL
We'll be starting in January...early January! I'm so stoked about it. I POS almost 3 weeks after my m/c and got a negative result. I waited awhile because I knew it would be heartbreaking to see that line knowing I wasn't pregnant anymore. I actually O'd the day I took the test and am in the 2ww now..although we weren't officially trying, we weren't preventing either. SO, our timing isn't the greatest this cyle, but hope it will be next cycle. I had some pretty good signs I was getting ready to O this cycle, so hoping it will be the same with the next. I'm so ready to get this ball rolling! I have a little less than a week now before AF should show, so it took about 5 weeks for me to get AF.
I would think that if AF arrives your HCG should be back at 0, but I'm no dr that's for sure! ha! Same for ovulation if you track that.
Brook Lily's mom - wow! I hope the first cycle for you leads to a bfp! Thanks for the advice on the hcg levels. My dr doesn't follow hcg levels so I am a bit in the dark on that topic. It does make sense that AF would follow once the levels bottom out. I took a HPT yesterday and it was a super faint +, and I had EWCM on CD 16 which is normal for me, so I am hopeful AF will be here in about 2 wks.

My dr didn't follow levels either. They didn't even need to see me because everything seemed to take care of itself. We definitely could be TTCAL buddies, I know I'll need all of the support I can get! I get pretty neurotic..haha
