Anyone else's S/O nesting already?

My dh decided to sweep/mop and do dishes while I was at work last night. Got up today and he was dusting and hanging pictures we've been meaning to put up for a few months. He also put away all the baby stuff we bought. Now he's cleaning the office.
Don't get me wrong, I love all the help but it's weird and is making me feel a little bit lazy ;)

  • You can send him to my house! My H starts to help but starts so many things that none of it gets finished until I go behind him and do it!

  • My DH never nests.  I wish he would, but it's just not his style.  He helps with dishes and laundry, and I appreciate when he does, but it never goes beyond that.

  • We have the cleaning out bug for sure. This weekend DH is moving out all the boxes in our spare closet (still containing all the wedding gifts we have no room for) to his parents' attic, so the closet can be space for Baby Shower gifts.

  • DH did that with the first pregnancy. This time....not so much.

  • Mine is doing some nesting but it's not cleaning more organizing and getting rid of his crap, oh also decided we were moving so we are in search of a house now, and he was very helpful and into going shopping for furniture and strollers is that was nice cuz I thought he would get stressed and overwhelmed

  • Husband nesting? And being helpful? What's that? ;-) my husband doesn't really do anything around the house. He did tell me when we move that I won't have to lift a finger, that he will do all the moving, so there's that.

  • One day I went out with a friend for lunch and when I came home he had pulled up our card box from the wedding (that was just sitting in the basement) and put toys we had received from my sil in it in the nursery :)
  • My BF is so damn excited to paint it's silly. But most times I'll catch him just standing in the nursery looking at the crib or clothes hanging in the closet. I've never said I've seen him I just tear up, smile, and walk on. Cutest friggin' thing ever!
  • My husband has OCD so that's our norm around here.

Neither one of us has a nesting itch yet, probably because we're too preoccupied.  We're moving in 2 months, so the closest I've gotten to nesting is having one hell of a Pinterest board for the nursery lol

  • Both of us have done quite a bit of nesting lately. The timing was perfect bc we just moved into a new home. Not as much prepping for the baby as I'd like, but that's coming soon!
  • We're both teachers so our plan is to get situated this summer.

Yup. He's painted the nursery, changed out lighting fixtures for a ceiling fan, rewired the wall outlet for the fan/light, worked on the basement so that we can move the office down there, and he's currently looking at closet organizers for the baby's closet. But he's a handy guy in general and likes projects.

My DH was itching to paint the room, set up the crib and put together the room. He's cleaned out our bonus room for when I will be hanging out up there and has so many other projects he wants to get done

He's moved all our electricial outles for all the tvs so they are up behind the tvs and no wires are hanging down.

It's very nice he's excited and even better he is so motivated to help make my life easy and help out!

He also cooks 95% of the time :)

  • Mine doesn't have a choice now because I'm out for the rest of the pregnancy.  But he's doing great with it too!  He's keeping the house clean, taking care of the dog, decorating the nursery with my direction, getting my food ready, etc.  Feeling pretty blessed with that guy lately!

  • Mine has too!  I think it's so cute.  I was leaving for work this morning and he was putting together the crib.  He also said he was going to paint the inside of the baby's closet because it was scuffed up.  So precious.  Now that I'm really showing (and he can feel the kicks), it's getting more real to him.
