Clothing sizes...b/c it's Friday

Just because this will be a super long day at work, how about a clothing size post.

I was thinking how all over the board our little ones are in their clothing/shoe sizes. A little girl at DS's back up d/c is only 10 months old and she is already walking and is just as round as DS but shorter. I was dying to know what size clothes she is in. Hence, let's do a size post!

DS is currently in 18 month size clothing (although some 18 month jeans are too big around the waist...thank goodness for those adjustable waist pants! but 12 month are too short for him) and he wears a size 5.5 or 6 toddler shoe

He is 96% for height (33") and only 45% for weight (24lbs) at his 15 month appointment last week.

I had bought some 24 month winter stuff, but now I'm worried he'll start getting into that size the end of summer. I also have some 2T winter items.

Henry Cavill...You're welcome!

Buying clothing ahead has always been so hard for us because DD has always been at the top of the charts. At 12 months she was 24 lbs 29" and already wearing 18-24 months.

However now that she's super active and walking (almost running) she's thinned down so much. I would be surprised if she's gained any weight in the past two months (she's not 15 months till the 26th so we haven't had a doc appointment).

She's been in 18 months for about 5 months now. For jeans we do 2t because of her cloth diapers. I also sometimes buy shirts in 24 months and 2T because I figure I can roll the selves and get more wear out of them. But 24 month pants are too long. Also, I pulled out some of her clothes from last summer and they still fit! She was such a butter ball then and now that she's thinner I think I can get some more wear out of stuff. Yay!

I say it never hurts to buy a size up in tops. More bang for your buck.

Shoes are the main thing I have to buy now. Any idea how fast their feet grow? She's in between a 4 & 5 now but not sure what size to buy in summer shoes.

  • Our DD who is 14 months wears 12 months but just this week I noticed that they're starting to look small on her so I guess I'll be moving over to 18months. Not sure how much she weighs now but at her 12 month she was 22 lbs. and 29" (Her dad nor I are very tall). She's also in between a 3 and 4 in shoes depending on the style.

  • DS can still wear his 12 month shirts and some of his 9-12 month pants when he is in a disposable but he is mostly in 18 month clothes and pants because we use cloth most of the time.  I, too, am unsure of what size he'll be in for fall/winter clothes because he can still wear some of the things he was wearing before Christmas.  I even went to a huge consignment sale and decided not to buy anything too season specific because of that uncertainty.  Well, that and the face that buying boys clothes at a consignment sale in Tennessee means I have to dig through mountains of ugly stuff to find one shirt that isn't hideous.

He is going to need new shoes, soon, though.  His 5.5 X-tra Wides are becoming difficult to put on and I've seen him tripping on his own feet in the last couple of days.

My husband is the same height as me, 5'8", and most of the men in my family were tall so the fact that DS was in the 25th %ile at his last couple of check-ups makes me think he'll be taking after my husband rather than my family when it comes to height but I know we cannot predict until closer to two years.

She wears mostly 12 mos, but 18 month tops fit best to cover her belly.  She's 22 lbs, I don't remember her height, but I think she's on the short side. she wears size 3 shoes, 6-12 mos. she has tiny feet

  • I have one of the short, round ones. :) 12 month pants are the right length but too tight in the waist. If she wears 18 month pants they have to be rolled up quite a bit. Leggings definitely work best! Tops are mostly 12 months. Shoes are either a 3 or 4. Not sure how much she weighs, but she was 19lb at a year, so maybe 20/21lbs?

  • We don't have a 15 month appt either, but last time she went to the ENT she was 21lbs and we measured her mark on the door at 31in.

Really depends on the brand, but her pants are anywhere from 18 months to 2t (which are a little long) and I am buying 24 months to 2t shirts for her right now to wear. She has a really long torso, and I noticed some of those 2t's won't last all summer.

However, her feet are tiny. She has 2's and 3's. Some 3's are too big.

  • dd is 15 months and we just started putting her in 18 mos...she is 21 lbs and 31.25" tall so the 12 month fits weight wise but too short....we need pjs! realized all our pjs are fleece and it's starting to get warmer....we have 2 piece pjs that are 12 months and should still be ok....bc no feeties so length doesn't matter...I feel badly bc she was gifted with cute cold weather 18 month stuff but it was too big on her!

  • DS will be 15 months tomorrow and weighs 24 pounds and is 32 inches. He's in mostly all 18 months except for pants. He's in 12 months cause he has short legs. He's always been a size smaller in bottoms. We have a few 12 month onesies that still fit. As for shoes. He's about to grow out of size 4.

I have a feeling we will be in size 18 months for awhile. He's been in 12 months since October/November.

  • DS#2 has been in 18 month clothes since about Christmas.  I just noticed that some of his pants are getting a bit short on him.  Guess we'll be moving up to 24 month clothes around summer time.  I have no idea what shoe size he is because I've never put him in shoes (he isn't walking yet).  He does wear 18-24 month socks though.  I think he's one of the younger babies on the board though (Jan 29).  I won't have his 15 month appointment until the 1st week of May.  It'll be interesting to see how big he is!

  • DD has her 15 month appointment in two weeks. She is in 18 or 24 month bottoms and 2T almost 3T tops depending in the brand. Her shoes are a 4.5 wide. She is one of the younger ones on the board, but you would never know based on her size!

  • DD has been in 18 month clothes for a while, mainly onsies and shirts. Pants she can still fit in the 12 month, but has such a big round belly that all her 12 months were hard to fit anymore. She also wear a size 4 almost 5 shoe.

  • DD is still pretty small she mostly wears 9 and 12 months. She probably weighs 19 lbs and maybe 30 inches. We dont go for her 15 month check up until may 5th which she will be 16 months may 14th doesn't make sense to me why the schedule like they do. She wears a size 2 shoe.

  • DS pretty much wears 9 month clothing. He fits into some 12 month shirts but the pants are super long. I had bought him a ton of 12 month clothing at the end of season last year. He didn't get to wear much of it at all :/ this winter. He is mainly short. At his 12 month appointment he was 18lbs and only 26 inches. Lol oh well, I love my little peanut!! He has started walking since then and seems to have thinned out. He was seen at the doctor a few weeks ago for an illness and was a little over 18lbs so maybe he is close to 19 now? His shoe size is 3.5.

  • DD is pretty small at her 15 mo appointment she weighed just under 21 pounds and was 29.25 inches. She wears cloth diapers though so her butt is always huge, she'd probably still be able to fit into mostly 9 month stuff if not for the diapers. She's in 9mo or 12mo clothes now.
  • DD is 23lbs and 31 inches. She's stj comfortable in 18mo sizes, though her tops have started moving up to 24.

    She's a size 5/6 in shoes.
Our little Samosa arrives in January!
  • DD is in 18 mth onesies and shirts and mostly 12 month pants.  She's got a huge head, so that was what first sized us out of the 12 month clothes.

  • DD's 15 month appt isn't until Friday but at a sick visit last week she weighed 20lbs. With a cloth diaper on she wears 12 month clothes. With a disposable diaper on she can still fit in 9 month pants and shirts but not onesies. She is in a size 2 shoe or maybe 3.

Dd wears size 18-24 robeez, I think that's about a 5 in regular shoes? She's in 12-18 month clothes but were just starting to break out the 18-24s. Mostly just because all her 12-18s are winter stuff though. The new stuff is a little big but more weather appropriate.

She's 23 lbs and I forget how tall but about 50th % for both.
