I didn't really have a question. It just that LO is turning 5mo this week and I am surprised how quickly it went by. It  feels like it was just yesterday I got home and felt like bf for half a year seemed like such a daunting task. Now I can't believe we'll be starting solids in just 4 weeks. I know that she will still need bm for a yr but since I'm back to work, she only bf once or twice a day and I kind of miss her earlier bf days before she like to look around, touch pull things, and squirm away.... btw, I've also become addicted to this forum and appreciate all great tips I received on supply, plugs, teething and many more. Has anyone tried bm in nuk sippy cups?

    In my experience sippy cups are like bottles, every baby has a particular one that works best. I'm in the same boat as you, I can't believe how quickly the last 5 months has gone!!!

    This is true about each baby having a preference. Since my LO is using Playtex bottles I first tried offering her a Playtex sippy cup and she seems to have caught on. I haven't put breastmilk in the sippy cup after the first try bc once LO realized how fast it comes out she became frustrated with nursing and how she had to work for it.

    Wow, you basically put into words how I feel! I have an almost 4 month old and I was overwhelmed in the beginning of BFing a full year because it was so time-consuming. I can't believe how fast time has gone by and I'm excited to start solids (even if it takes a few more months for her to cut out feeds). BFing is so much easier now and even though it's still time consuming it feels like overwhelming and more manageable. Me too--I'm so addicted to the breastfeeding board, haha!

    TTC since April 2011. DH Dx MFI in February 2012. BFP #1: 7.16.12. MMC dx: 8.22.12, D&C 8.28.12, TTC Again November 2012. DH Varicocele repair November 2012; Repeat SA showed "dramatic" improvement February 2013 (awesome!)
    BFP #2: 3.26.13, EDC: 12.7.13. Anya born December 9th, 2013!

    hmm... that is interesting about baby preferences. I just tried BM in nuk sippy cup today and she did not get it. She didnt even try sucking it. So now after reading the replies I'm thinking I should try a few different cups.  I know some moms had more success with a fruit juice and putting some on the silicone spout outside but LO has not started eating anything besides BM yet. She is just 5 mo so we are going to wait until 6 mo to introduce water. I just thought she might like to grab onto the handles since she likes to grab things now... I'll try the platex next!
