Routines that you LOs love or hate

What do your LOs like or dislike when it comes to routines? For DS:

HATES - brushing teeth, washing face/hands with wash cloth, changing diapers, getting dressed, putting socks/shoes/jacket on, getting into car seat (but okay once strapped in)

I think in his ideal world, he would LOVE to be a dirty naked toddler who can run around in bare feet.

LOVES - reading books, going for a walk/playground, climbing stairs

NEUTRAL - baths, cleaning up toys, going down for naps/bedtime

Hates getting dressed and diaper changes. Also not a fan of getting into the stroller.

Loves/likes pretty much everything else. Especially loves brushing teeth, bathtime, going out of the house (he gets to push the elevator buttons!).

HATES: reading, eating, stroller once he has been out, lotion applying, cuddling, diaper changes - basically anything that requires him to sit still

LOVES: bath time, getting dressed, teeth brushing,

WAIT!!! WHAT??? How can all your LOs love teeth brushing??? DS absolutely hates it. If we let him have the toothbrush, he'll either just chew on it, or more likely than not, brush it everywhere BUT his teeth. If we try to brush for him, he clamps up his mouth and gives the ear-shattering shriek.

@pb_bride: oh we do mainly letting him chew on the toothbrush...I doubt many of his teeth ACTUALLy get brushed, but he's only got 6, so I don't worry too much...sometimes I can sneak in there as well. He more just loves the toothpaste so he gets excited about tooth brushing.

Tooth brushing is not a big deal here either. I brush her teeth, then let her do it. She tries, but mostly chews or brushes her tongue.

No diaper change issues here anymore. Since she is poop trained now, we use either pullups or the huggies slip on diapers. Best thing ever! She just steps right into them, no muss no fuss.

Naptime, however, I am obviously trying to kill her. She screams and screams. Unimpressed.

@BandEddie she did it herself! She saw her cousin (9 months older) on the potty and pretty well said "eff this noise if she can do it I can do it!" She still pees in her diaper no big deal. But I haven't changed a poopy diaper in months. She will wiggle and squirm and scream amd cry until I ask her if she needs to pee/poop. Then she will run down the hall to the bathroom. It's freaking fabulous, not gonna lie.

Dislikes: Coming inside after playing, getting his diaper changed (only sometimes)

Loves: Brushing teeth (I made up a song so now he dances while I brush his teeth, then I hand him the toothbrush and he pretends to brush mine and DH's), bath time, playing outside, cleaning up (read putting things in boxes), putting his shoes away, feeding the dog, and emptying the dishwasher.

Re-reading this...apparently my kid likes to clean things. I think I am totally the messiest one in the house!

@CnAna, super jealous! Was thinking of you and your DD all day b/c my son so far has pooped FOUR freaking times. We have a potty for him and we've been putting him on for the past 5 days, but nothing has happened. He used to poop right after b'fast (like 5 out of 7 days) so that's when I put him on the potty. But this week apparently he's holding it in until later. Anyway, cue epic meltdown x 4 today so far with all the poopy diaper changes, not to count putting socks/shoes/jacket on him and putting him in the car seat. TGIF as I'm ready to hand him off to DH for the weekend!

If it helps at all, y'all jinxed the no-drama tooth brushing. I had to literally hold her head and arms last night. I have decided to believe that its because her gums hurt and once the molars actually cut I will have it all easy again.
