Gut Feeling

So DH and I were talking over the weekend about when to go back to the RE and do another round of treatment for #2. Our original plan had been to save money and shoot for October to go talk with the RE and redo testing, then treatments by Dec-Jan. Well we aren't going to be able to save enough money by then for IVF and DH has been wanting to try one IUI, which we didn't do last time.

Our new plans are to call the RE this week to schedule a sit down appointment and talk about doing an IUI and hopefully doing one at the end of the summer. DH says he has a gut feeling an IUI would work, but I'm not so convinced. I'm willing to do one, but I told him I will not do more than one IUI since the chances will start dropping and it's money we could be saving for IVF. The first time around we were told we'd be starting off with a 25% that an IUI would work and it would drop from there with each subsequent IUI.

We've been TTC on our own since January but it's kinda hard to do that when my period showed up every two weeks for two months. I'm a little excited to go discuss a plan of action, but it's also a little daunting knowing those up and down roller coasters are waiting for my emotion to take a ride on. No real point to this post, just needed to get it all out. Here goes nothing!

FX you get lucky on an IUI. A 25% chance is what any "normal" couple TTC has, so that's not bad odds. GL to you!

Fx for you!!!! I hope your DH'sgut is right. I've been thinking a lot about pulling the trigger for #2 of late and am also feeling overwhelmed about opening up that can of emotions again, so I get what you're saying!

We did IVF to have our second child but IUI worked to have our third. I was the one with a gut feeling that we didn't need to go back to IVF despite quite a few REs feeling differently. In fact, the one who did our IUIs (I got pregnant on our second one) told me she would do them but "felt bad stealing my money." So, I hope your husbands gut turns out to be as right as mine was :-)

If anything, IUI is an easier process than IVF. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you guys.

@Mnerani‌ - we are completely out of pocket for everything. That's the main reason DH wants to do an IUI now because the cost for us is so much cheaper and he would like to give it a shot sooner rather than later.

I think I'm more nervous for it not to work and what it will do to me emotionally than anything. Thanks girls and I'll keep y'all updated!

Honestly, I've been thinking the same for us. We skipped iui, but I felt like something else was off. I has little CM and breakthrough bleeding mid-cycle. We are officially unexplained but I feel different. My cycles are better. It might be worth considering!
