what's new with your LO 7-8m edition

It's the beginning of the month. We have 8 month olds!! So, what's new?

LO cut his first tooth a few weeks ago. He only has one lonely bottom right tooth.
He's started rolling from back to belly now. It's keeping him up at night after his motn feeding :(
he's starting to sleep longer stretches now. He slept 8 hrs for the past 2 days. (I think I just jinxed it)
he tilts his head to see people who are hiding behind an object

We've been crawling for 5-6 weeks. Now we're furniture surfing, walking with our walker, starting to clap, making lots of different sounds.

I think she understands certain words (like "nap" for those of you who saw my FB video). She had no problem bringing food to her mouth. Still had some issues "chewing" it though.

She's gotten over her hatred of being worn and the stroller which makes outtings much more enjoyable. Still working on sleeping though...

Also, we cut our first tooth last night!

  • Turned 8 months on the 31st. She eats lots of solid foods now. She has no teeth and does not STTN at all ever... she doesn't even sleep 4 hour stretches.

She can roll front to back and back to front, sit for long periods unsupported and go from laying down to sitting. She crawls forward at a good clip now, and she also pulls up and cruises a few steps in each direction.

She's a pretty happy kid for the most part, but she really wants to be doing whatever her big sissy is doing!

M loves to sit. Champion sitter!! He's slowly finding his land legs and pulling up to his knees. When he stands he kinda hula hoops with his hips. Still wobbly.

Eats like a lil goat. Starting to chew really well. Still isn't using fingers to pick up, he palms the food and shoves it in his mouth. It's kinda funny if he drops it before it gets to his mouth and he takes a huge bite of air. He looks so crestfallen.

His 3rd tooth is poking thru. Soon he will have 3 bottom teeth. He loves his dogs--always tying to pet them and he gets all excited when he sees them. Recognizes familiar faces and spaces. Loves to talk.

Eta- still no sttn either. She is up a lot.. I'm tired but that's what tea and coffee is for

  • LO has two bottom teeth, has all the sudden started sitting up unassisted to the point where we no longer need the infant bath, and is turning into a crawling machine. Crazy!!

  • LO is super happy lately. He is very easy going and chill. He is over the "stranger danger" phase. He loves all children and dogs.

He can sit up... And that's about it.

He likes to trick me every night, one night he will STTN, the next night he will wake up three or four times. It's a fun guessing game.

He reaches for me and will give me kisses (open mouth and tongue out).

Oh and he holds his hands by hi side and clenches his fist and grunts when he is angry.

  • LO is crawling all over the place and starting to pull herself up on stuff. She has her bottom teeth and trying to cut the top two teeth (these have been hell!) bathtime is her favorite! She learned high five last night and it cracks her up! Food is still SLOW. She doesn't like anything cold in her mouth.

  • DD is 8 months on Sat. She has no teeth yet. She is great at getting herself in a sitting position. She is army crawling all over the place and very fast. Crawling she has the arms figured out just has to get the legs to follow suit.
  • 8 months on the 11th. Jackson has been crawling since about 6 months and is now pulling up, moving along objects while standing and trying to balance hands free. He eats lots of foods and is suuuuper talkative. This boy is non stop! I'm in biig trouble when he does walk. He however still has no teeth or signs of them coming(could be the amber necklace) still no STTN, not even close. But with everything else who cares. He says momma and dadda and waves goodbye and is working on his high 5s

  • She giggles like crazy now and makes this cute little face when she's happy by scrunching up her nose and smiling. Also, she was at the daycare at the gym this morning while H and I worked out. It was her first time being with someone who wasn't family but she did great. It was only hard on me, I almost broke down sobbing when we dropped her off!

Not 8 months until the 16th. He is such a little busy bee these days. He crawls so he is EVERYWHERE. He is so attentive and loves his solid foods (an eating off our plates). He also has one tooth :) he "talks" all the time. His favorite (and pretty much only) word is "da da" and my H melts every time.

He's now only waking one time per night to eat which is a major development in this household. He is starting to pull up on everything too!

Wes turns 8 months tomorrow and is nowhere near crawling. He is a great sitter though. :) He's still not too crazy about solid foods - thinks he is being cheated out of a boob. Haha. He has two bottom teeth. He still wakes up three times at night to eat.

His personality is ridiculous! He's a happy, silly boy. He's started to shake his head back and forth. He holds up his hands for patty cake and laughs. He likes to turn the pages for us during story time. All of his toys go straight to his mouth. Bath time is like a trip to Disney for him.
"The cleaning, the scrubbing will wait til tomorrow,
For children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So, quiet down cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep."
  • LO will be 8 months on the 16th and she is not yet crawling. She can sit and spin around in her belly. She just started trying to climb onto my lap on the floor but doesnt make it very far. She has two bottom teeth and can wave and clap. She loves purees but not a fan of big people food and She can say dada and Mmmmm when she is eating.

Henry will actually 7 months old on the 8th but we joke that he's making up for his late arrival by doing everything else early.

He started crawling two days before his 6 month birthday. Within a week after that he was pulling himself up to a stand and surfing along the furniture. He slept terrible during those first two weeks of his 6 month! He's been working very hard on letting go of things while standing but doesn't have the balance for it yet. He LOVES his bath time but I'm having a hard time getting him to sit in the tub now.

He's not clapping yet but will wave hello. His babbling stopped for awhile (while working on getting mobile) but has picked back up with multiple sounds (I-da-ga, a-ma-ba) but still no mama or dada.

He eats everything! We did BLW and the only food he's not liked has been baby food peas, which I can't say I blame him. He has a mild egg allergy and also got a rash from hummus so hopefully he'll grow out of that soon. Sleep is finally getting better. Bedtime is 8 and he's usually asleep between 8:15 and 8:30. Most nights he wakes up around midnight but he fusses himself back to sleep. When he wakes around 4am, I nurse him back to sleep. He usually wakes up around 7:30 for the day. It wasn't very long ago that he woke every two hours so I'm very happy with the new pattern!

  • Dude will be 7 months on the 6th. He army crawls like a boss, and pushes up on hands and knees, but can't seem to put the two together. His first tooth popped up last Friday. He's been sitting for a while if you sit him up, but he's just now figuring out getting in and out of sitting position. Still rocking the purses. Our attempts at finger foods just end up on the floor.

I'm with you gals! He sits and can slobber up a shirt in about 5 minutes.
Still no teeth, gets up 2-3 times a night. DS1 was a late bloomer with most of the same stuff too so I guess it's in our genes.

N's 4th tooth is coming in- it's his second canine. I have a little vampire baby.

He just started crawling, sitting up on his own, and pulling up all this week. We just got into April but already it's been a busy month for N!

    My baby is ONE!!

  • Lots of crawling!! Walks as long as there's something to hold onto. I think we're working on teeth #3 & 4. Not a lot of babbling here. He definitely talks, just not up to the other's abilities.

  • She's 9 months in less than a week...gasp!!! Strong sitter if you put here there, but can't sit up on her own. Not crawling, but its like you can see her little brain working when she's sitting and reaching for something.

Rolling? Eh who needs it. Lol she can do both ways, but hardly does. She babbles to know end and often talks to "ba bwa". During some cries/whines, "momma" has come out and it melts my heart.

For foods, she's mostly purees and is going well with them. Chicken isn't happening, loves yogurt. Having MumMums but that's really it. Probably going to puffs soon.
  • Jackson just turned 7 months last week. He's crawling, but he hates it sometimes. He fusses and fusses but continues to do it. He can go from sitting to belly to hands and knees to sitting. He can pull himself up to his knees and is getting close to getting on his feet. He CRUISES in his walker and thinks chasing the animals is the best thing on planet Earth. He'd much rather be standing holding onto something than sitting and playing.

He still loves when I sing to him about whatever I'm doing. I've found his best ticklish spots and can get the biggest laughs. He has kind of slowed down on talking, I think because he's so mobile. He's a garbage disposal and will eat anything.

Oh! and yesterday Jackson and daddy went "off roading". He has this car with a handle attached to it and DH took him up in the woods behind our house and he thought it was the greatest thing ever. He was tuckered out by the time they made it home. We have some video of it and it kills me <3

  • C Will be 8 months on the 14th. She pulls up constantly and has started to cruise now. :) She still has no teeth, which my other two were late getting teeth, so it was expected. She also crawls and can go from laying/crawling to sitting. Growing up too fast!

  • He will be 9 months on the 13th. Where has time gone??  :((

He is a good sitter but you have to put him there. He nose dives for toys and rolls around but thinks crawling is overrated. He will scoot on his bottom once in a blue moon.

He loves to eat! He does mostly purees with the occasional finger food. He is pretty good at getting food to his mouth and does well with a loaded spoon.

He loves it when we sing to him. I think MIL sings a lot when she watches him. He was babbling up a storm but has moved on to screeching. Overall he is just cute, I can't get over it!

Ethan will be 8 months tomorrow.  He's got his to bottom teeth and has been army crawling for a few weeks.  He gets up on hands and knees all the time and rocks back and forth.  He can't get into a sitting position yet, but sits just fine if you sit him up.  He babbles all day long.  He eats pretty much any pure I make him.  He's obsessed with the cats and crawls after them whenever they come in the room.  He tried to play with the cat food too, so we put up a gate there.

He gets upset if we leave the room and has started to show a preference for who he wants to hold him at any given time.  Yesterday DH came home for lunch and E got fussy and nothing I did would calm him because he wanted his dad. The day before at lunch he wanted me to hold him and not DH. He also now crawls up to our feet when he wants to be picked up.
