Rec your baby shoes!

With the weather turning warmer and our LOs getting to the mobile age, I'm looking for shoes recommendations. What styles/brands have you tried, which did you like?

Re: Rec your baby shoes!

  • Stride Rites all of the way.  The soles are flexible and the go up in stages.  If your baby isn't quite walking all of the way, they have shoes that don't impede crawling.

  • It's actually better for their developing arches if they don't wear shoes, if you can help it (daycare requires shoes)

Stride rite is a great option

  • Ellie will have to have and wear shoes this spring/summer because we are outside ALOT. Like for at least an hour every afternoon.

  • N wears rubeez. They have really soft soles and are super cute :) she is starting to walk so she is going to need something when we are out and about and these seem great!
  • My DD won't keep shoes or socks on her feet! It's so frustrating since it's so cold out. I ordered her a pair of Jady Baby's.. They are super cute. They are soft soled.
  • @WasNotWas‌ I've been lucky enough to win a pair in a giveaway and buy a pair second hand for 1/3 the price!

Jelly!! True story: I immediately checked eBay :)

  • My guy wears the target knock off of robeez, on the rare occasion that socks aren't enough. More frequently I just double up his socks if I'm worried about his feet getting cold.

  • Since DD isn't mobile yet, she just has some baby Toms for the cute factor. We will most likely get her first real pair from Stride Rite. DS has always had a wide and extra wide foot so all of his shoes come from there.
How do the baby Toms stay on?  So cute!

G just wears socks or Hanna Andersson mocs.  She has a pair of See Kai Run soft Mary Janes, but doesn't wear them often because she pulls off all shoes and socks.  It's kind of pointless right now.

  • I'm looking into stride rites, but it's just socks for now! Anyone found stride rites locally? If so, what store?

That's odd; our daycare doesn't require shoes. I wonder why some do and some don't.

There are Stride Rite stores. Go to their website and see if there is one by you.
  • @nykkolaughs‌ I saw those on Shark Tank and fell in love. Unfortunately I'm not spending $60.

    My favorite are Pediped.
  • Stride Rite (watch for sales!  I think it's buy one get second 1/2 off right now - they're pricey as all hell!).  I also like Pedipeds.  I think flex soles are the best thing and even my four year old just started wearing "real" sole shoes when I bought his sneakers last fall.

  • Off to google after i post this.

He doesn't wear shoes, but i did buy him robeez (is that what they are called?) For half price at BRU. I figured they'd be nice starter shoes when he is starting to walk on his own. They are nice and flexible, no hard sole.

  • I love our Robeez.  Daycare suggested them, as they like for the kiddos to be wearing shoes when they're outside (not required for inside), but they're also very conscious of babies needing to be barefoot to understand movement better.  LO goes barefoot most of the time, but I feel good about the Robeez soft soles being very nearly like going barefoot.
