I'm coming up on the 6wk mark and I had horrible back cramping from about 3.5wks-4.5wks

If it's not severe enough to interrupt your daily life, you're probably ok. If they're debilitating I'd get checked out. You know your body best & if you feel something is wrong, get checked out.

Low back pain/cramps are a symptom/sign of early pregnancy.

  • I get them off in on too. I think sometimes it's based on what I've eaten (if my stomach gets upset or not). Keep an eye on em & check with your dr if that will make you feel more comfortable.

    ALL ARE WELCOME
  • I'm only about 5 weeks and I have had them for about a week and a half. At first I was concerned because with my daughter my back pain didn't start until about 24 weeks. However, from what I can tell, it is normal in early pregnancy as well. If it's severe, though, that warrants a call to your OB.
  • thanxs everyone for the positive reply's . I am so scared that this one will also end in mc like the last one . It gives me hope that others are also experiencing then and i am not alone. I will check with my doc about it on monday. Wish me luck that i will be able to see my tiny bean this time . :)  image
  • I've had some lower back pain and I'm just about as far along as you are. Nothing major, but definitely some soreness.

  • hi,

i have a doc appointment on monday , will ask her then about it .
  • I had it early on for a couple of weeks - sort of dull, achy - then it vanished until about halfway through and now it's returned being dull and achy again, sort of a pulled-muscle feeling.

Same with my first pregnancy, early on for a few weeks then from about halfway through onward until the end.

I didn't get back pain with either pregnancy that ended in a loss but both were fairly early.

As long as it's not serious enough to stop you getting on with things, you should be fine but mention it at the next appointment if it's bothering you
  • thanxs for the info darkangel42. I had a mc at 4 weeks in dec 2013, stopped ttc for 2 months and started again in march 2014 . Now I'm 5 weeks along . I went to the doctor early to reduce the chances of mc. she gave me a hcg injection and varginal proesterone capsule . But nothing was visible in my transvarginal ultrasound at 4 weeks . Is that normal ??????????????????

    @deep013

4 weeks seems early to be able to see anything. I thought they waited til

about 6. Could be wrong but to me 4 weeks is early.

I think usually early US is between 6-10 weeks.

  • 4 weeks in doctor speak is 2 weeks of actual baby-growth and that sounds way too early to see anything. I didn't know they even did ultrasounds before 5 or 6 weeks
  • I was cramping weeks before my missed period after my missed period and it stopped about 10 weeks .. Perfectly normal. Congrats :)
