After fighting since the end of November to get an insurance claim covered due to my c-section being unplanned I finally got a call from the company saying they are approving it.
They first said they needed this form filled out. I did that. They denied. I wrote back saying it needed to be approved based on the language of the handbook. Then they said they needed a statement saying it was necessary from my ob. He did that. Then they said that wasn't enough and needed all my medical records. I refused that. They said all the had was the statement from my ob (which was exactly what they asked for).
So basically a whole lot of back in forth (after the first round I said I will only communicate via email so I could have written proof) and the threat of legal action if it wasn't approved by the end of this month, they are mailing me a check next week. H thought it was a waste of my time but I was not going to give up (it's enough money to cover our car insurance for 6 months with a little left), so he's impressed!
And today was my last day of work until the 16th!
and just because, an adorable pic of dd.
