Pump and store question

I am still trying to establish and keep my supply up so I am pumping after each feed? The result of my efforts are generally small -perhaps an ounce or two. My question is about storing this milk. Can I put the milk in the fridge after pumping and then (at the end of the day) combine all the milk from that day and freeze it in one bag? Ie: how soon after bumping do you have to freeze. Your thoughts and experience would be appreciated.

Re: Pump and store question

  • You can keep pumped milk for a few days in the fridge.  Just make sure to combine it at the same tempature (ie, don't pour milk you just pumped into a container with cold milk).  And when you freeze it, just mark on it the earliest date it's from.  I pump at work for day care and often get an extra ounce or 2 a day. I will keep it in the fridge and combine from 2 or even 3 days and then freeze it, I just make sure it's dated the date of the first pump.
