Shoe help

Hi-

So, I only have about 3 weeks left until my due date & conveniently none of my shoes fit me anymore. My feet are so swollen that I can't even get them into a pair of flats. Aside from flip flops & maybe my Uggs, I am shoeless. I don't want to spend a ton of money on shoes just for a couple weeks, but I need to wear something. Any suggestions?

Re: Shoe help

  • I broke down and bought a pair of croc flats. They certainly aren't high fashion, but they look like regular ballet flats at a glance. Felt like a nice compromise between comfort (lots of room for swollen feet in mine), utility (good traction to keep me steady and they'll be even more useful this summer as outdoor shoes), and looks.

  • I have toms and a billion pairs of flats but right now my feet aren't fitting into them. I saw the crocs on zappos but I've never worn them and I don't know how comfortable they are. I would just wear sandals but its still 40 degrees in Chicago :(

  • Mary Jane crocs! You can wear them afterward too. They have great support, even if they aren't super cute!

I agree with therebedragons. I got a pair or crocs that are just regular looking flats. (Actually I got 2 pairs) And I caught a buy one get one 1/2 off so they averaged under $15 per pair. So, not super expensive.
Now that I am in the home stretch of pregnancy, all I wear is the crocs! Theyre super forgiving.
  • Even though it's April, I just started wearing my flip flops.  I don't really go out much anymore since my due date is April 4th and I'm uncomfortable, but when I do I just wear flip flops or my Uggs.
  • The only thing that fit me were crocs. Ugly crocs.
  • Is there a name for the crocs that are Mary Janes or flats??

  • I went into a shoe store and asked what waitresses/nurses/etc wear, and they brought me a pair of klogs.  Ugly, but SO COMFORTABLE.

  • I have a pair of sketchers tone ups flip flops. Not the cutest shoe I own but I basically wear them everywhere. They give lots of cushion compared to just flat shoes that didn't offer a lot of support.
  • I broke down an bought a pair of Roxy loafers in a dark gray.  I wear them  every day and they are quite comfy.  They expand to accommodate whatever size my feet are that day.  I will probably never want to see them again after this pregnancy is over, but they have been a life saver.

This.  Except they were knock-off Walmart $5 crocs.  There is no way I was spending much more than that for shoes for a few weeks.

If I had been still working, I might have opted for something more fashionable.

  • This is going to be of no help to anyone, but I am wearing my clogs when I can get away with it. Not cute clogs. Actual Dutch yellow wooden shoes. They are so comfortable!
  • I might run in Payless myself. I am in flip flops too lol :)

  • I just went to Payless today because I have been having the same problem, even my toms are tight! I found cute ballet flats that stretch and it's nice because they offer a lot of wide styles too!
  • Yeah I ended up going to Payless. I got flats in a 1/2 size bigger & wide width. They were ok today.
