WWYD?

Would you call the pediatrician for this?

DD has been waking up the last two nights with a dry diaper (8 pm to 6:30 am).  I usually don't change her diaper during middle of the night feeds unless she is fussing after eating or has leaked out of the diaper.  It is just easier for all that way and she has no issues with diaper rash that would make me concenrned.  Usually in the morning then her diaper is pretty wet but yesterday and today she woke up dry.  She then had a pretty big diaper shortly after waking up (within about 30 mins) and she had plenty of wet diapers throughout the day yesterday.  She is also nursing fine and took both bottles at daycare yesterday.  Should I be worried about going so long overnight without urinating or just be thankful?

Re: WWYD?

  • As long as she's having enough wet diapers everyday, I wouldn't worry.

DS does this sometimes. The first time it had me worried, but then he filled his diaper within an hour of being awake.

  • Thank you both!  This is kinda what I was thinking but then I started second guessing myself.  She definitely is having enough wet diapers during the day(3 so far today according to daycare) and doesn't seem uncomfortable when she goes.

  • Same thing here and @MarBee1214‌ those were my thoughts too!! Maybe potty training will come early and be easy lol. A FTM can hope right!!
  • My DD does this occasionally. She still hits 6 diapers during the day so I'm not worried. :)

  • I wouldn't worry if she's still wetting at least 5 during the day.

DD sometimes is pretty dry overnight and then wets two full diapers the first few hours of the morning.

Now if she seems uncomfortable when she is wetting a diaper I would call
    I agree with this.

  • I was coming here to ask the exact same thing. Glad you asked!

  • DD wakes up dry sometimes after STTN.  I wouldn't worry if she is having plenty of wets during the day.
  • My DD has woken up with a dry diaper a few times now too. She always makes up for lost time during the day! So as long as yours is also having plenty of wet diapers during the day, I wouldn't worry.
