I've got a normal appointment with my midwife in an hour. Hopefully my weight gain has slowed down.
Update: Alles gut. (Can you guess what that means?) Also, holy heck I weigh a lot. I've officially put on more than a third of my pre-pregnancy weight. This time the midwife is not at all concerned. She says I have a lot of fruit water (wha?) which is German for amniotic fluid.
Appt today and baby is measuring small. It's super stressful and scary. Anyone who says they feel huge or weight gain needs to slow... I'm super jealous of you right now. It's much worse on the other side of the spectrum. It sucks.
Had a regular OB appointment and everything looked good! I am now sitting outside the lab with my knitting, having downed the orange drink, waiting for my hour to be up. I've been dreading the drink all week, and it really wasn't that bad!

Just got done with my echo. Asked the lady how my heart looked and she said she'd let the doc talk to me. Then asked if I had a history of congenital heart defects. The look on her face while doing the echo made me nervous and asking about heart defects just sealed the deal. Next Wednesday is going to take forever to get here that's when the dr discusses the echo and heart monitoring with me. Now I'm off to an ob appointment to check on the baby.
I have a regular check up with my OB this afternoon. I'm hoping to talk to her about my heartburn and see if she can get me some relief. I can't deal with it anymore!
Survived the GTT, it wasn't so bad. I should have results by Monday if things are bad.
My blood pressure was a lovely 178/90 at the start of the appointment. They redid it at the end and it was back to a more normal 125/82. He has me doing a 24hr urine catch as a precaution.
Had my 28/29 week appointment today. Baby looks great! I'm up 30 pounds. I only gained 28 with baby #1, haha! Hopefully the weight gain will slow down since I get full much quicker these days and can't really eat too much.
Sending good vibes for your Wednesday appointment @Mtzwilson
The pediatric cardiologist got us in yesterday evening (Thursday.) He brought us in at the end of the day when the office was closing so he could take the time he needed to get pictures of baby's heart without running into anyone else's appointment. He was awesome.
He set up an ultrasound machine to check her heart anatomy and rhythm. It took a long time to get the views he needed, but you could see and hear the skip-beat very clearly. It was very interesting to watch. We got to see her face and knees quickly at the start when he was looking for her heart.
He concluded her irregular heartbeat was the most common one he sees and does not expect it to be a problem--he said he has never seen it not clear up on its own. Her heart structure was perfectly normal, her heart is actually beating one extra beat and then stops for a quick moment before resuming normal rhythm.
He is going to monitor her, we go back for another echo cardiogram in two weeks, and most likely will do an EKG after her birth to confirm it resolves.
It's unnerving to discover an abnormality with your unborn baby's heart of all places, and have her see a cardiologist before she is even born! On the plus side, it is amazing what can be detected so early and she can be monitored now to ensure the irregular rhythm doesn't persist.
The doctor was wonderful, really set our minds at ease, and we're happy our daughter has him looking out for her. I'm happy it's not a serious condition and our baby girl will be just fine and healthy. Typing this paragraph is making me cry... At work...
