I'm getting ready for surgery to fix up my mangled tube and endometriosis. I'm pretty sure it will be next Friday. If I can ever get this cycle started I can schedule it. I'll just say my RE's bedside manner could use some work and she is not very comforting or helpful. I'm apprehensive about having surgery at all but apparently it's my only option if I want to move forward. It's laproscopic, outpatient, through the belly button. I guess it's a small surgery but I'm kind of (read, very) nervous about it. Has anyone had this surgery? Can you please tell me how it went for you? TIA.

WARNING: they pump a shitload of gas into your belly so they can see your tubes without the organs and tissues covering up the camera lens. before they close you up they try to remove all the air but it's impossible so you will feel bloated and for a few days after the surgery you will feel pain in your chest/clavicle (esp when sitting) this is trapped air in your body that will eventually work it's way out. know this going in. i thought something was wrong and luckily a few people said it was the same way for them.
you will do great.

Thank you both for the warning about the gas in the chest. I probably would have thought I was having a heart attack or something.

The IV motrin was freaking amazing. It didn't make me feel groggy like other pain meds but man did it take the pain away. I hurled in an e-bag on the way home and was scared it would hurt the incisions but didn't feel a thing. Then I got hungry and made myself soup when I got home LOL- the meds helped the pain that much. The 2nd and 3rd days were the worst, I think.
Best of luck!
