Breast size after breastfeeding

This is my first baby and I breastfeed/pump. Just wondering if my chest is going to stay the size it is now or if it's going to be bigger/smaller after I stop breastfeeding/pumping? I have a bunch of clothes that won't fit over my chest anymore, but I'm hesitant to get rid of them just in case the size changes. I'm hoping I stay this size, but no one else in my family breastfed, so I can't look to them to see how things went. My cousin wasn't very busty until she got pregnant and had her baby, then she got a pretty good size bust, but she never breastfed. How did things work for those of you who have been through this?

  • probably they'll end up a little smaller when all is said and done. i would hold onto everything and wait and see. not sure how old your LO is, but in the early weeks, your boobs will be pretty huge when they are full, but after a couple of months you may already be able to fit into some of your old clothes.

my DS is still breastfeeding (he is 19 months) but after a nursing session, my cup size is definitely smaller than it was pre-pregnancy. however, my band size got larger because my ribcage is bigger postpartum. i can fit into all my old clothes, but i had to get rid of my pre-pregnancy bras because the bands were too tight.

  • Oh god I pray they go down!!!! I told my friend I went up 3 sizes. She said she went up 3 and down four. Here's hoping!!!

  • I agree with pp, hold onto them. I'm still BFing at almost 8 months and mine have gone down a bit.
