Does your LO drink from a cup? Yes if they will drink more than a sip or two. ETA to add I consider the camelback a straw cup.

Re: Drinking from a cup?

  • He drinks great from a sippy, so that's what I put. He'll take a couple sips from an open cup, but then starts blowing bubbles into it and it gets messy from there.

  • We've only tried a sippy and he is the master. Now that he is crawling, he will always find big brother's milk and I turn around and he's drinking it...like a magnet to that thing, he is.

  • DD will sometimes take a couple sips from her straw cup. She seems to be more open to drinking if she is distracted (looking out the window or at the tv). I was trying to decide if I should try out a sippy or just keep trying with the straw cup.

  • My DD loves water and gets excited about it but she will only take it out of an open cup when we give her sips. She only gets a few sips each meal. She chews on the other options.
  • I think that ds will be using a regular cup. I've given him sippy cups but he doesn't like it. When I give him a regular cup he does great with it. (I have little kid cups as ds1 uses the smaller cups still)

  • Grayson will drink water from his camelbak cup all day long. He does understand to tip his head back with a sippy cup. I still try to offer it but I don't push it since he will drink out of the camelbak.

  • He can drink from anything. He has always done great drinking from my cup with or without a straw with assistance holding it. We used a sippy for a while but now he uses a straw cup and does better with it. He still can't crawl but he can self feed and drink great.

  • He flat out refuses to use a cup - sippy or otherwise.  I'm not worried because his brother was the same way.  My kids have some aversion to use their arms lol

  • 1. B won't drink from the sippy cup I got him, but it isn't a typical sippy cup so that might be part of the problem.

    2. He drank from his bottle unassisted for the first time over the weekend.

    3. He looked interested in my glass of water two days ago so I put it to his mouth and helped him drink from that.  He seems to love drinking from an open cup so we may end up going that route and skipping a sippy completely.
  • He can drink from a sippy, but has trouble with the spill proof kinds. He would much rather have a bottle.

  • Nuby sippy. The spout is soft enough he can chew on it and get water.

  • He's good with the sippy, doesn't get past chewing with the straw cup though
  • Drinks water like a champ from her sippy. Doesn't understand straws yet. Loves taking sips from (sticking her tongue into) water bottles.
