Paraguard? Yay or nay?

1) My periods were heavy and crampy all by themselves, and dr warned paraguard makes them heavier and crampier.
2) I didn't need the 10yr option. 5 was fine.
3) I react to hormones in BCP, but the Mirena delivers the hormones directly to the desired location so my body didn't react to the hormones like with the BCP. So, the hormones vs no hormones was not an issue.
My doctor said hormone free was better since my mom has blood clot issues, otherwise I would be looking at Mirena.

I picked mirena over paraguard.
